5.4.3 Special Measuring Systems

In addition to the standard measurement systems according to DIN 53018 and DIN 53019 (cylinder measuring

systems, cone/plate and plate/plate measuring systems P1 to P4) also special measuring systems can be

used. Special measuring tasks can be realized by those measuring systems, e.g. viscosity measurement of

strongly sedimenting suspensions. The main intention of using special measuring systems is to get

reproducible results. With special measuring systems, torque, speed, characteristics or relative viscosities can

be measured. The exact calculation of shear stress and shear rate and its distribution is not possible.

vane rotors: F1, F2, F3, F4

vane rotor F1 (for measuring cup G1 or free rotating)

measuring cup diameter: 38 mm

vane diameter: 34 mm

without holes

(recommended for cosmetics, creams)

recommended viscosity range: 20...10 5 mPa s

vane rotor F2 (for measuring cup M1 or free rotating)

measuring cup diameter: 18 mm

vane diameter: 14 mm

without holes

recommended viscosity range: 100...10 5 mPa s

vane rotor F3 (free rotating, for glass vessel)

long stab

vane diameter: 34 мм

with holes

(recommended for suspensions, starch)

recommended viscosity range: 20...10 5 mPa s

vane rotor F4 (for measuring cup G1 or free rotating)

measuring cup diameter: 38 mm

vane diameter: 34 mm

with holes

(recommended for materials with solids and

suspensions)

recommended viscosity range: 20...10 5 mPa s

Crown sensor

For the investigation of plaster and masonry mortar and

other inhomogeneous products
