HOMENAJE A PHILIPPE VANTA
Patrice Gueddy: Me gustaría mucho contarles, cómo fue
que Philippe y yo nos encontramos en el mismo camino.
Un día me habló el director artístico de L'Oréal y me
dijo, “Oye Patrice, necesito un gran favor, viene un gran
estilista de París, viene sin asistentes y sin nada, quería ver
contigo si me pudieras prestar a uno o dos asistentes”. Yo
le contesté, “Se ve que es un fregón, no le voy a prestar
dos asistentes, va ir todo el salón, incluso yo quiero estar
en primera fila”, y es que siempre he sido así, total, ese día
fuimos 35 personas, Philipe se presentaba en el Camino
Real si mal no recuerdo. Yo a Philippe le pasaba el agua, los
pasadores de cabello, lo que él necesitara en la plataforma
y mucha gente me decía que porqué hacía eso, y yo me
decía a mi mismo, por qué no, si él es muy bueno, quiero
hacerlo., y así empecé mi relación con Philippe.
Tiempo después, conocí a Philippe como Director Artístico
y fueron muchas cenas en las que compartimos tantas
experiencias, tanto en su casa como en la mía, en la de Jean
Paul, en fin, en distintos lugares e iniciamos una amistad
que duró muchísimos años.
Patrice Gueddy: I would very much like to tell you how it
was that Philippe and I found ourselves on the same path.
One day the artistic director of L'Oréal spoke to me and said,
"Hey Patrice, I need a big favor, a great stylist is coming
from Paris, he is coming without assistants and without
anything, I wanted to see if you could lend me one or two
assistants". I answered him, "You can see he is a fregón, I
am not going to lend him two assistants, the whole salon is
going to go, even I want to be in the first row", and I have
always been like that, that day we were 35 people, Philippe
was presenting at the Camino Real if I remember correctly. I
passed Philippe the water, the hair pins, whatever he needed
on the platform and many people told me why I did that, and
I said to myself, why not, if he is very good, I want to do it,
and that's how I started my relationship with Philippe.
Some time later, I met Philippe as Artistic Director and
there were many dinners where we shared so many
experiences, at his house, at mine, at Jean Paul's, in
different places, and we started a friendship that lasted
for many years.
