MAINTENANCE
Attheendofthesummeridentifyanycelsthatremainina
waled-upconditionfrom thepreviousyearbecausenoyoung
beesemerged.Thecontentsofthesecelswilbedeadand
shouldberemovedanddestroyed.
Identifyanycelswhichhavebeentakenoverbythefly
Cacoxenusindigator,whoselarvaeeatthepolenstoreand
beelarvae.Thecontentsofthesecelsshouldberemoved
anddestroyedbeforetheadultfliesemerge.
Replacedriledblockswithbrandnewoneseverytwoyears.
Thisisdoneinthesummer,aftertheyoungbeeshaveemerged.
Itwilhelptopreventthebuild-upoffungusmoulds,
mitesandotherpestsandparasites.
