La Fundación Ernesto Ventós
quiere poner en valor la importancia
del sentido del olfato para la
transformación social. Su misión es
potenciar la mejora de la salud de las
personas, siendo referente el sentido
del olfato como motor de generación
de conocimiento, educación y bienestar,
puesto que si se aprende a oler o se
mejora el sentido del olfato se potencia
la memoria y la creatividad.
Este cometido lo llevamos a cabo
desarrollando experiencias artísticas,
involucrándonos en investigaciones
sobre los sentidos y divulgando a través
de talleres olfativos.
Para Ernesto Ventós Omedes, oler era
vivir. El arte contemporáneo era una
manera de recuperar experiencias
olfativas.
El perfumista no quería que nadie se
quedase sin percibir estas vivencias.
La vertiente artística/olfativa de la
Fundación se compone de colección
olorVISUAL y de la obra propia que creó
Ernesto bajo el nombre de NASEVO.
“A través sus obras, pasamos de la
vista al olfato y de éste, a la dialéctica
de la razón sensible a través del objeto
artístico. Se trata de objetos artísticos y,
a la vez, objetos lingüísticos: un
arquetipo, la nariz; una semántica, el
olor-color; y un continente, los estilos y
formas del arte.
Creó obras destiladas del conocimiento
de Ventós con espíritu de alquimista,
mago y transformista”, según escribe
Vicenç Altaió en el prólogo del libro
NASEVO.
Desde que NASEVO empezó a crear, se
han realizado más de 10 exposiciones a
nivel nacional y ha estado presente en
el World Perfumery Congress de Miami
de la mano de EVSA.
Con esta máxima, Ernesto describía su
percepción sobre Casa Vicens: “En la
Casa Vicens todo huele sin excepción,
paredes, techos, rincones, las flores, las
hojas, la madera. Es pura naturaleza
transformada en esencia.”
Siguiendo la misión que nos dejó
Ernesto, la Fundación continuará
enseñando a oler a través del arte.
The Fundación Ernesto Ventós
is dedicated to enhancing the
importance of the sense of smell in
the transformation of our society with
a commitment to contributing to the
improvement of people’s health, in which
the sense of smell is a key resource for
generating knowledge, education and
well-being, since learning to smell or to
improve our sense of smell potentiates
our memory and our creativity.
The foundation carries out this important
task by providing artistic experiences,
taking part in research on the senses
and raising public awareness by means
of olfactory workshops.
For the perfumer Ernesto Ventós
Omedes, smelling was living, and
contemporary art was a way of
recreating olfactory experiences, and
he did not want anyone to miss out on
these experiences.
The olfactory/artistic aspect of the
foundation is made up of the colección
olorVISUAL and Ernesto’s own art, which
he created under the name NASEVO.
As Vicenç Altaió writes in his foreword
to the book NASEVO, ‘Through his
artworks, we go from sight to smell and
from there to the dialectic of sensebased
reason by way of the art object.
These art objects are, at the same time,
linguistic objects: an archetype, the
nose; a semantics, smell-colour; and a
container, the styles and forms of art.
‘Ventós created works distilled
from his knowledge with the spirit
of an alchemist, a magician and a
transformer.’
Since NASEVO began creating art, his
work has been shown in more than ten
national exhibitions and has been
presented by EVSA at the World
Perfumery Congress in Miami.
Ernesto summed up his perception of
Casa Vicens in the following terms: ‘In
Casa Vicens everything smells without
exception – walls, ceilings, corners,
flowers, leaves, wood. It is pure nature
transformed into essence.’
Following the mission that Ernesto left
us, the Foundation will continue teaching
to smell through art.
