El desarrollo del pensamiento crítico en el niño de educación primaria

Abstract

The research referred to in this paper aims to recover knowledge about the ways in which primary

education teachers are promoting the development of critical thinking in their students, seeking the

achievement of one of the central purposes of the plan of studies of that level. This research seeks to

recover knowledge about the promotion of critical thinking development in primary school children.

The Object of study is: How is the development of critical thinking promoted in primary school

students? The justification considers the need to encourage critical thinking in students through a

reflective teaching practice, which must be reflexive in order to regain what is happening, the way in

which it works and the obtained results. The objective: recognize the strategies used by the teacher to

promote critical thinking in primary school children. There will be applied a mixed research method:

descriptive scope of cross section (includes hypothesis) and it pretends to generate a diagnostic and an

alternative proposal that promotes solutions to the studied situation. The population sample includes

three primary schools in the city of Morelia, Mich. Including the totality of the teachers and the

students of the groups from fifth to sixth grade. At this time, the project has a development of 40%,

according to the route set for its progress.
