Philippe Starck creó con Kartell
la primera silla industrial concebida
con inteligencia artificial.
A.I. surgió de un algoritmo,
ideado por un software de Autodesk
Research, que respondió
a los requerimientos estéticos de
Starck y Kartell además de los
de peso, tamaño, material y proceso
de producción.
COZY ALGORITHM
Philippe Starck- together with
artell- created the first industrial
chair conceived by artificial
intelligence. A.I. emerged from
an algorithm ideated by an Autodesk
Research software, that
responded to the aesthetic requirements
of Starck and Kartell,
and also to the weight, size and
production process.

La inventiva en torno al reaprovecha-miento
de materiales llenó
los espacios del Salone Satellite. El
estudio Kuli Kuli de Japón consiguió
el primer lugar con su Kobe
Leather, que utiliza la piel del ganado
descartada luego de obtener la
preciada carne de Kobe, la curte y
tiñe para reutilizarla en una amplia
variedad de productos de cuero.
Cáñamo y caseína son la materia
prima de Halo, una silla resistente y
liviana, un proyecto orgánico que
le valió al estudio Philipp Hainke el
segundo puesto en la premiación.

The inventive about the reuse
of the material filled with the
spaces of the Salone Satellite.
The Kuli Kuli studio in Japan
got the first place with its obe
leather that uses the discarded
fur of the cattle after they got
the precious Kobe meat; they
tan it and reuse it as a wide
variety of leather products.
Hemp and Casein are the raw
materials of Halo, a resistant
chair that gave the Philipp
Hainke studio the 2nd place at
the award show.

Atelier Oï y Alias se asociaron
para hacer un sofá que evoca
la estructura de los antiguos
botes de madera. En E la nave
va (Y el barco navega) prima la
construcción sobre el diseño:
lamas de madera dan soporte,
mientras una correa las une
y distribuye la carga para
adaptarse a quien se siente. Tan
importante es la estructura que
queda a la vista.
IN SIGHT
Atelier Oï and Alias got together
to make a sofa that evokes the
structure of ancient wood boats.
On “E La Nave Va” (the ship
sails) the design construction is
explained: wood sticks support it
while there’s also a mechanical
strap that distributes the weight
to adapt to whoever is sitting on
it. It is important that the whole
structure is exposed so everyone
can see it.
