When you imagine something
that you like, the passion is so
powerful that you can’t stop
imagining at all
Ever since I can remember I’ve always wanted to
dedicate myself to create. I’ve always had a soft spot
for design, textures, colors, and shapes. I’ve always
wanted to create my own way of expression and use
fashion in order to deliver a message.
By Efrain Mogollon was born in 2009, at the time
where there wasn’t a well-made product, with an
amazing ending result and a solid concept in the
market. I decided to start my own atelier that same
year. There are 12 people working there and they all
feel like they belong 100% to By Efrain Mogollon.
The most exciting part is where I meet the fabrics
and I feel that everything I imagine can come
true. With a lot of hard work, of course! When you
imagine something that you like, the passion is so
powerful that you can’t stop imagining at all.
You have to be a hard worker to be the best. Mediocrity
generates awful consequences. When you work hard,
you succeed, and then you evolve in a positive way.
Each collection is well thought out and structured in
a way that each time a piece of clothing is made, it
comes out with more maturity and my own aesthetic.
I remember an editorial video for Vogue Japan with
Caroline Vreeland. We prepared our new collection
Fall-Winter. The stylist had pieces from huge fashion
houses and to our surprise, he chose our Selva bodysuit.
I’m very excited about a sustainable luxury project.
It’s called Grin Label, with 17 designers. Each one
of them will create a piece of clothing with different
fabrics and low environmental impact processes which
will be identified with a label that will explain how it
was done, who was the person who did it and how
pollutant it is.
