Halfway through the plot, almost as thin as the paper supporting
it, the iaget Altiplano finds its purpose: measure
time going through Jon Donovan’s wrist, who slowly will
start to rid himself of his façade to show himself not as the
hero who charmed his young admirer, but as the human
being he actually is.
LA MÁQUINA DEL TIEMPO
THE TIME MACHINE
Classic and subtle, the 3mm thick case makes it the thinnest
self-winding watch of the world. Its oscillating weight made
up by 22K of rose gold was minimized and decentralized,
and decorated with the traditional Côtes de Genève. In order
to achieve this feat, the manufacturer had to reduce to the
very minimum the distance between all of the elements of
the caliber, which involved precise calculations to achieve
the desired weight of each piece.
En medio de la trama, casi tan delgado como el papel que la
soporta, el Altiplano de Piaget descubre su propósito: medir
el tiempo sujeto a la muñeca de Jon Donovan quien poco
a poco irá desechando sus máscaras para salir a la luz no
como el héroe que había fascinado a su joven admirador,
sino como el ser humano que realmente es.
Sutil y clásico, los 3mm de grosor de su caja lo convierten
en el movimiento de cuerda automática más delgado del
mundo. Su masa oscilante de oro rosado de 22 quilates fue
miniaturizada y descentrada y sus puentes han sido decorados
con el tradicional Côtes de Genève. Para lograr esa hazaña,
la manufactura tuvo que reducir, además, la distancia
entre todos los elementos del calibre a la mínima posible,
lo cual implicó un arduo trabajo en cálculos de peso para
cada pequeña pieza.
