front of people and set, a lot of ideas arise,
then is necessary take advantage of that,
having a plan, a route in order to brand you
as director.
What format did you use?
John Agudelo: We filmed on digital format
using two cameras: A Black Magic Cinema
and a Sony A7RII which are video cameras,
the format was 2k for projection in large
screen, the purpose of this decision was
improving the quality of the film.
Sony camera is smaller and handy, it can
be introduced in nooks, it was used to film
indoors. While Black Magic was used to
film outdoors offering a favorable light exposition.
We filmed in this format because
is standard quality for projection in cinemas,
the equipment was gotten thanks to
alliances with different sponsor enterprises
in Bucaramanga.
“The aim for next year is attract
distributors, our short film is a
little long, and that’s a topic we
have to talk with distributors in
order to check different processes,
every process is unique and it’s
not possible be bounded by the
demands of distributors.”
world) not jeopardy for the production.
At the end we achieved all the objectives
without improvisation.
How long was the work with the actors
and what method did you use?
John Agudelo: It was simple working with
professional actors who have wide experience
in Films, Theater and Television. I
met them before filming, we talk, visualize
the characters, read the script and gave
them instructions for the different scenes. I
said them for example: “You are sad because…
your past was…” We created together
profiles to look actors more natural, despite
the story wasn’t shown in any moment of
the short. I handled characters’ design.
When we were filming, we know the purpose
of every scene, they should work and I
only gave them some advices: “Silence here”
“Don’t look over there, look at the camera
please”, and stuff like that.
How was production phase?
Irene del Castillo: It was a pretty fulfilling
experience, but a little complex because the
place was far from the city. Jordan Sube it’s
like a “ghost town”, we had the budget to
realize the short film, however “La Cineteca”
made a big effort .
What obstacles did you face during the
filming?
John Agudelo: There were many. First, a director’s
work requires leadership, in this way
is necessary be able to lead with a big team
of work, coordinate their minds and bodies
pursuing a common goal. Then is necessary
setting times of each person, transport,
food, lodging, and a lot of things more
which sometimes slip through your fingers.
We had some delays (but not out of this
And what about INI?
Irene del Castillo: In their last two pro-
