The piston rod in the pusherleg retracts automatically. This function is usedfor example to adjust the height of the rock drill,when rigging up the pusher leg, or when there is atendency to jam. When the valve pin is depressed,the feed control setting is activated again.Starting the rock drill1.2..4.5.6.7.8.CBDOpen the main valve for compressed air.Open the cock (D) for the flushing water.Adjust the feed control lever (B) to give asuitable feed force for collaring the hole.Align the rock drill so that the drill steeltouches the required collaring point.Move the throttle lever (A) forward a little,this will start water flushing, percussion androtation.Collar the hole with reduced feed force.Move the throttle lever (A) fully forward oncethe drill steel has gained a secure footing inthe rock.Adjust the feed force by means of the controllever (A) so that the maximum penetrationrate is obtained.Stopping the rock drillPull the throttle lever (A) backwards, this will stoppercussion, rotation and flushing water.A12© 2006 Atlas Copco Construction Tools AB | No. 9800 0681 71 | 2006-11-20

Switch off the rock drill percussion and flushingwith the throttle lever (A).2. Depress the valve pin (C), whereupon the pistonrod is pulled back into the pusher leg cylinderautomatically.3. Re-position the pusher leg.4. Release the valve pin (C), whereupon the pistonrod will move outwards again.5. Move the throttle lever (A) forward into theworking position.Note! The feed control lever (B) does not need tobe touched during this procedure.MaintenanceRegular maintenance is a prerequisite for machinesafety. Replace damaged and worn componentsin good time. For a major service to the machine,contact your nearest authorized workshop.Check the machine and tools for wear and damageat regular intervals. Do not use very worn ordamaged tools.When cleaning mechanical parts with a solvent,make sure that you comply with current healthand safety regulations and ensure that there issufficient ventilation.Daily maintenance, regular checking of wearingparts and carrying out repairs in good timeprevents breakdowns and increases the service lifeof the machine.Always oil the pusher leg well, before you putthem into storage.Store in a clean and dry place.Make sure that no foreign matter enters themachine.Protect the chuck using the plastic plug providedwith the machine. Alternatively, use a woodenplug or a clean piece of cotton waste.Always hose down and wipe clean the rock drilland pusher leg after use.In the case of long-term storage, pour a quantityof oil directly into the rock drill's air intake andthen turn on the air briefly. This will protect themachine from corrosion.Differences between original parts andpattern partsWhen buying a part, the first thing to do is to verifythat the part is an Atlas Copco part. Most parts canbe identified.Rock drill parts are normally marked with a part numberand the Atlas Copco identity mark which is a circle witha rock drill inside it.
