Use a minimum h<strong>and</strong> gripconsistent with proper control <strong>and</strong> safe operation.► When the percussion mechanism is activated, theonly body contact with the machine you shouldhave is your h<strong>and</strong>s on the h<strong>and</strong>le. Avoid anyother contact, e.g. supporting any part of the bodyagainst the machine or leaning onto the machinetrying to increase the feed force. It is also importantnot to keep the trigger engaged while extractingthe tool from the work surface.► Make sure that the working tool is well-maintained,not worn out, <strong>and</strong> of the proper size. Working toolsthat are not well-maintained, or that are worn out,or that are not of the proper size result in longertime to complete a task (<strong>and</strong> a longer periodof exposure to vibration) <strong>and</strong> may result in orcontribute to higher levels of vibration exposure.► Immediately stop working if the machine suddenlystarts to vibrate strongly. Before resuming thework, find <strong>and</strong> remove the cause of the increasedvibrations.► Comply with the recommended air-pressure when<strong>operating</strong> the machine. Either higher or lower airpressurehas the potential of resulting in higherlevels of vibration.► Do not grab, hold or touch the inserted working toolwhen using the machine.► Participate in health surveillance or monitoring,medical exams, <strong>and</strong> training programs offered byyour employer <strong>and</strong> when required by law.See the "Noise & Vibration Declaration Statement"for the machine, found at the end of these <strong>Safety</strong> <strong>and</strong>Operating <strong>instructions</strong>.Machine modification hazardWarningAny machine modification not approved by AtlasCopco may result in serious injuries to yourself orothers.► The machine must not be modified withoutAtlas Copco's permission.► Use only original parts <strong>and</strong> accessoriesapproved by Atlas Copco.Additional safety <strong>instructions</strong>► Machines <strong>and</strong> accessories must only be used fortheir intended purpose.► Only qualified <strong>and</strong> trained persons may operate ormaintain the machine.► Learn how the machine is switched off in the eventof an emergency.► The maximum permissible air pressure for themachine must not be exceeded.► Release the start <strong>and</strong> stop device immediately inall cases of power supply interruption.► Always inspect the equipment prior to use. Donot use the equipment if you suspect that it isdamaged.► Always use your common sense <strong>and</strong> goodjudgment.► Pay attention <strong>and</strong> look at what you are doing.► Do not use the machine when you are tired orunder the influence of drugs, alcohol or anythingelse that may affect your vision, reactions orjudgment.► Participate in safety <strong>and</strong> training courses.► Never strike or abuse any equipment.► Keep the machine <strong>and</strong> tools in a safe place, out ofthe reach of children <strong>and</strong> locked up.► Make sure that all the attached <strong>and</strong> relatedequipment is properly maintained.► Signs <strong>and</strong> stickers bearing important informationregarding personal safety <strong>and</strong> care of the machineare supplied with every machine. Make surethat the signs are always legible. New signs <strong>and</strong>stickers can be ordered from the spare parts list.► Make sure that no unauthorised personneltrespass into the working zone.► Keep the workplace clean <strong>and</strong> free from foreignobjects.► Never point a compressed air hose at yourself oranyone else. Carefully follow the<strong>operating</strong> <strong>instructions</strong>.Before undertaking any maintenance or changingthe working tool on pneumatic machines, alwaysswitch off the air supply <strong>and</strong> bleed the machineby depressing the start <strong>and</strong> stop device. Thendisconnect the air hose from the machine.► Use only authorised parts. Any damage ormalfunction caused by the use of unauthorisedparts is not covered by Warranty or ProductLiability.► Change damaged parts immediately.► Replace damaged <strong>and</strong> worn components in goodtime.► For major service to the machine, contact yournearest authorised workshop.► When cleaning mechanical parts with solvent,make sure to comply with current health <strong>and</strong>safety regulations <strong>and</strong> that there is satisfactoryventilation.Working tools► Keep the tools clean <strong>and</strong> in good condition.Regulary check the working tools, make sure thatthey are sharp <strong>and</strong> not worn out.Note!
