Creada en Asturiasen el año 2006 por diferentes entidades del ámbitoprivado y público y con el apoyo del Instituto de desarrolloEconómico del Principado de Asturias (IDEPA ) laPlataforma cuenta en al actualidad con más de 90entidades, siendo la empresa industrial asturiana laprotagonista fundamental de esta plataforma, teniendosu secretaría permanente en al Fundación PRODINTEC,Centro Tecnológico para el Dise_o y la Producción Industrialen Asturias. Tiene como objetivo promover la renovación,reactivación y reestructuración de sectores industrialestradicionales a través de una estrategia basada en lainvestigación y la innovación.En el año 2.007 se detectó la oportunidad de que elgrupo más proactivo de la plataforma MANUF@CTURIASManuf@cturiasManuf@cturias is a regional initiative fromthe European Technological OrganizationMANUFUTURE.
