(74)LA PERSUASIÓN COERCITIVA, MODELO EXPLICATIVO...DEBATESDe esta forma, el impacto que provoca en la mujer la agresión, genera tal grado<strong>de</strong> sorpresa e incomprensión, que la víctima ya no atien<strong>de</strong> al motivo <strong>de</strong> la discusión,sino al ataque que él le dirige. Ya no se cuestiona si la reacción <strong>de</strong> él esapropiada al motivo <strong>de</strong> conflicto, sino que <strong>de</strong> forma inversa, se da por a<strong>de</strong>cuadadicha reacción (agresión) al motivo argumentado por él.«Yo lo veía muy normal, muy natural, hasta que llegó la primera bofetada. (…) Nome pidió disculpas, yo me sentía culpable como <strong>de</strong> haberle <strong>de</strong>sobe<strong>de</strong>cido, porqueél siempre me <strong>de</strong>cía «cuando vayas a salir me dices a dón<strong>de</strong> vas a ir, lo que vasa tardar y cuánto tiempo vas a tardar». (…)…fue aquella bofetada aislada y yono me sentí mujer maltratada, sino culpable <strong>de</strong> lo que había hecho y que me lomerecía. Lo <strong>de</strong>jé pasar hasta que siguieron más». (GD9)Otro factor <strong>de</strong>terminante, consustancial con el maltrato, es el que éste se realizasobre un trabajo previo <strong>de</strong> <strong>de</strong>svaloración y <strong>de</strong>si<strong>de</strong>ntificación <strong>de</strong> la víctima:«Como si dijéramos. Primero eso, primero te van anulando, porque tú no pue<strong>de</strong>s tomar<strong>de</strong>cisiones, porque tú como persona no vales ni para madre ni para esposa ni paracompañera ni para mujer ni para nada, y te hacen sentir culpables <strong>de</strong> todo». (GD9)La <strong>de</strong>svalorización (incorporada), la pérdida progresiva <strong>de</strong> la confianza en símisma y en sus propias percepciones, generan la duda:«Luego llegas a la conclusión <strong>de</strong> que es mejor no hablar, porque te hace sentirculpable por cada palabra que dices. Y luego que te coartas tú misma, que si hasmetido la pata... ¿He pronunciado bien la palabra, lo he dicho bien, se dice así?Y luego, aunque no lo hayas dicho mal le pi<strong>de</strong>s perdón... » (GD8)La solicitud <strong>de</strong> perdón es ya previa a la agresión potencial. La «posibilidad» <strong>de</strong>dialéctica con el agresor ha <strong>de</strong>saparecido. La culpa ha llegado a ser un elementoconstante en la relación.El concepto <strong>de</strong> self o sí-mismo-a, arroja luz para compren<strong>de</strong>r la relación dialéctica<strong>de</strong> la culpa (28). El self, tal como lo <strong>de</strong>scribe Castilla <strong>de</strong>l Pino (10), «se trata<strong>de</strong> una inferencia que el sujeto obtiene <strong>de</strong> la i<strong>de</strong>a que tiene <strong>de</strong> sí mismo y <strong>de</strong> lai<strong>de</strong>a que cree que los <strong>de</strong>más tienen <strong>de</strong> él». En la violencia <strong>de</strong> género, merced alaislamiento físico y psíquico, los <strong>de</strong>más quedan eclipsados por el papel controladory omnipotente que adquiere la pareja (no po<strong>de</strong>mos formular en este momentoel papel que los hijos tienen como «otros»). El agresor pasa a convertirse en elotro por antonomasia, cada vez menos imaginario y cada vez más «real».«- Yo llegué a creer..., ya llega un momento que ya no miras a los hombres comohombres, si tú crees que le vas a mirar a alguien, ya te sientes culpable, ¿no?, es<strong>de</strong>cir, estás mirando a este..., como si él te estuviera viendo, que no te está viendo,pero ya tienes eso ahí tan metido que...» (GD6)4224
LA PERSUASIÓN COERCITIVA, MODELO EXPLICATIVO...DEBATES(75)Las tres opciones, que según Castilla, tiene el otro sobre el self <strong>de</strong> la víctimason: confirmación, rechazo o <strong>de</strong>scalificación. En la violencia <strong>de</strong> género, actúanlas dos últimas. Para este autor el rechazo en su peor forma se construye como<strong>de</strong>sprecio, pero es aún más prejudicial para el self la <strong>de</strong>scalificación. En la <strong>de</strong>scalificación«el self pier<strong>de</strong> la conciencia <strong>de</strong> sí mismo, su i<strong>de</strong>ntidad, el sentido <strong>de</strong>su existencia. Es la ini<strong>de</strong>ntidad en su forma más radical».Hablar sobre el origen <strong>de</strong> la culpa como emoción humana exce<strong>de</strong> el propósito<strong>de</strong> este análisis; sin embargo para compren<strong>de</strong>r la eficacia <strong>de</strong> la persuasión coercitivaen este proceso conviene hacer alguna referencia sobre el origen <strong>de</strong> estaemoción. En ocasiones, sobre todo cuando el concepto <strong>de</strong> persuasión coercitivase ha aplicado a la dinámica <strong>de</strong> las sectas, se admite la posibilidad <strong>de</strong> una vulnerabilidadprevia <strong>de</strong> la víctima (29). Recuperamos sin embargo la afirmación<strong>de</strong> Sadock (30): «El lavado <strong>de</strong> cerebro se apoya tanto en la coerción física comomental. Todas las personas son vulnerables al lavado <strong>de</strong> cerebro si son expuestasdurante un tiempo suficiente, si están solas y sin apoyos, y si se encuentran sinesperanza <strong>de</strong> escapar <strong>de</strong> la situación». Pue<strong>de</strong> existir vulnerabilidad previa enpersonas victimizadas en su infancia, pero no es así en la mayoría <strong>de</strong> los casos;las condiciones <strong>de</strong> vulnerabilidad se crean durante el proceso. En todo caso, lavulnerabilidad es una condición cultural <strong>de</strong>nominada patriarcado que afecta a«todos» por igual.El proceso <strong>de</strong> persuasión genera un estado <strong>de</strong> <strong>de</strong>bilidad en la víctima que laaboca a la <strong>de</strong>pen<strong>de</strong>ncia. La pérdida <strong>de</strong> i<strong>de</strong>ntidad implica <strong>de</strong>svestir a la víctima<strong>de</strong> la construcción que ha hecho <strong>de</strong> sí misma a lo largo <strong>de</strong> su vida. Fuerza, diríamosuna especie <strong>de</strong> regresión. A partir <strong>de</strong> los trabajos psicoanalíticos sobre el<strong>de</strong>sarrollo infantil <strong>de</strong> las emociones, según Castilla <strong>de</strong>l Pino (27), en las primerasfases previas a los tres años, «no se ha llevado a efecto el aprendizaje <strong>de</strong> unmecanismo ulterior (a la culpa), a saber, el <strong>de</strong> la mentira, el <strong>de</strong> la atribución<strong>de</strong> la culpa a otros, o sea, la externalización <strong>de</strong> la culpa». Por ello, «la primeraexplicación que uno pue<strong>de</strong> darse <strong>de</strong> una frustración es la <strong>de</strong> hacerse culpable<strong>de</strong> la misma».La creación <strong>de</strong> condiciones similares don<strong>de</strong> es imposible evacuar la culpa que <strong>de</strong>s<strong>de</strong>fuera se atribuye a uno-a mismo-a, es más visible en la expresión <strong>de</strong> celotipiasdurante la violencia. La víctima es culpada, los contraargumentos son <strong>de</strong>vueltosa la víctima como prueba a su vez <strong>de</strong> que miente ante las evi<strong>de</strong>ncias, y pruebapor tanto <strong>de</strong> su culpabilidad; pero finalmente ni siquiera se argumenta, sino quese actúa violentamente.«Si iba su hermana y su cuñado el que se supone que yo a los dos meses ya mehabía liad con él... si le miraba...malo, si le miraba, peor. Si hablábamos, queya estábamos... haciéndonos señales. Si no... nada, yo estaba con la cabezaagachada, que es que algo tenía que ocultar». (GD1)4225
