CELEBRANDO A DIVERSIDADE - CELEBRATING DIVERSITY -A R R A N C A U N A N U E V A E D I C I Ó NReinventado, mejorado, abastecido. El Festival de Cine Internacional de Ourense llega ya a su décimo tercera edición y lo hace con fuerzas renovadas. Si el año pasado desde laTenencia hacíamos pública nuestra voluntad de hacer de este evento una cita ineludible para profesionales y amantes del séptimo arte, hoy nos sentimos optimistas y satisfechos.Sentimos que estamos en el camino.Un festival nuevo necesitaba trabajo duro y un compromiso firme. Hemos doblado el presupuesto y creado nuevos espacios. Hemos apostado por la profesionalidad en la organizacióny la pluralidad en la oferta. Hemos recogido la larga tradición acumulada en diferentes ediciones y la hemos reciclado para generar un festival nuevo, diferente, abierto a todos.Y sentimos que todos los esfuerzos son precisos; Ourense, esa “pequeña Atenas”, bien se merece un festival independiente que sea un referente internacional.Ahora sentimos que todo este trabajo ha dado sus frutos: en esta edición la participación se ha disparado y el programa se ha enriquecido. Creemos que sólo incluyendo todaslas voces podíamos llegar a todos los oídos, y por eso, en este festival habrá tiempo para la memoria y la historia, para la transformación de las sociedades, para el análisis denuestra realidad y la de los demás.En un mundo en continua transformación Ourense debe buscar su lugar, llegando a lo universal desde nuestra idiosincrasia, aquello que nos hace únicos. Y así, guiados por unprincipio de diversidad, en esta nueva edición hemos querido lanzar un mensaje global que ha obtenido respuesta. En los próximos días Ourense se convertirá en una pequeñaBabel en la que producciones gallegas convivirán con otras procedentes de todos los rincones del planeta. Historias inéditas de las que es todo un lujo poder disfrutar.El Festival de Cine Internacional de Ourense será, además, la primera cita en el calendario gallego. The Ourense International Film Festival has come to its 13 th year with renewed strength. Last year, the Deputy Mayor's office made public its intentionto turn this event into an essential appointment for professionals and lovers of the 7 th art. Today we feel optimistic and satisfied. We feel that we are on our way.A new festival needed hard work and a firm commitment. The budget has been doubled and new spaces have been created. We have trusted a professional crew and a plural offer.We have taken advantage of the tradition from previous years and recycled it into a new, different festival, open to everybody. And we feel that all the efforts are precise. Ourense,our “little Athens”, deserves an independent festival which may become an international reference.Now we feel that all this work has beared fruits. This year, the participation has increased and the programme has enriched. We believe that only by including all the voices all theears will be reached. That's why this festival will devote a part of its time to revisiting history, to transforming societies, to analyze our and the others' reality.In a world that is continuously changing, Ourense must find its place, reaching universalness from our idiosyncrasy, which is what makes us unique. And so, being guided by theprinciple of diversity, for this new year we intended to send a global message that has already been answered. In the next days Ourense will become a little Babel where Galicianproductions will coexist with others coming from different corners of the globe. Unreleased stories which we will have the priviledge to enjoy.Besides, the Ourense International Film Festival will be the first event in the Galician film season.
