CELEBRANDO A DIVERSIDADE - CELEBRATING DIVERSITY -FORUM ACADEMIA ABERTA 20<strong>08</strong>.SPLIT LANGUAGE. THE AUDIOVISUAL FIELD AND GALICIAN LANGUAGE.In Galicia, the language question marks the singularity of our audiovisual industry, as using our country's own language mustcoexist with addressing to the Spanish and international markets.In this conference, which will be held on October 14 th -15 th at Congress Hall 2 of <strong>Ourense</strong> Auditorium, the main purpose isto study and discuss the different aspects of the relationship between the audiovisual field and Galician language fromdifferent points of view, paying special attention to dubbing. For this reason, the programme will be divi<strong>de</strong>d into two differentblocks.The first block will be <strong>de</strong>voted to meet realities similar to our reality (both on Spanish and international levels). There willbe guests from Wales, Québec, Catalonia and the Basque Country.The second block will be <strong>de</strong>voted to study the audiovisual-Galician relationship from different points of view. The socialculturalpoint of view will be discussed by teachers, writers and film directors. The artistic point of view will be discussed bylinguists, film directors and screenwriters. The Galician producers' point of view will be discussed on the third panel by guestswho will focus on a financial approach. The fourth panel will be <strong>de</strong>voted to the subject “Galician in the Audiovisual Field?”Therefore, the 25 th aniversary of dubbing in Galicia will be celebrated this day. There will be a panel of dubbing actorsthat will share the private stories of their work and will even remember “unforgettable” dubbings in the history of Galiciantelevision.Organized by the Aca<strong>de</strong>mia Galega do Audiovisual (Galician Aca<strong>de</strong>my of Audiovisual Arts), together with the GalicianGeneral Secretariat for Communication, the Galician Department for Culture and Sports, the Galician Department forInnovation and Industry and Caixa Galicia Foundation, and in collaboration with the <strong>Ourense</strong> International Film <strong>Festival</strong>256
