muestreo (UM) <strong>de</strong> 300m2. En cada UM todos los árboles >2.5cm fueron numerados conlaminillas <strong>de</strong> aluminio y cinchos <strong>de</strong> plástico, así mismo se <strong>de</strong>termino el tipo <strong>de</strong> bosque ysu dominancia. Los parámetros estructurales medidos fueron: diámetro a la altura <strong>de</strong>lpecho (DAP), altura total (AT), altura <strong>de</strong> fuste (AF) y cobertura arbórea (CA). Seobtuvo el área basal (AB), los Índices <strong>de</strong> Holdridge (ICH), Valor <strong>de</strong> Importancia (IVI) yValor Forestal (IVF), regeneración (R), mortalidad natural (MN), extracción <strong>de</strong> ma<strong>de</strong>ra(E) y <strong>de</strong>nsidad <strong>de</strong>l arbolado (D). Los resultados obtenidos para cada atributo promedioen C. erectus fueron: AT 6.2m; AF: 2.85m; CA: 8.2m2, AB: 11.1m2, IVI: 300,201/122/81; IVF: 300, 129/58/45; IVH: 11.5; MN: 5.7%; E: 5.1%; D: 709-3749Individuos/ha. Todos los bosques son periféricos/bor<strong>de</strong>/cuenca; se encontraron bosques<strong>de</strong>s<strong>de</strong> juveniles/maduros/seniles. La regeneración en todos los bosques, con excepción<strong>de</strong>l sistema Chacahua-Pastoría, en el resto fue muy baja 407-7890 individuos/ha. Laextracción fue baja, a pesar <strong>de</strong> que esta especie es muy utilizada como leña y para laconstrucción.MANGLAR DEL RÍO COATZACOALCOS: A 6 AÑOS DEL DERRAME DEPETRÓLEO.Gustavo Carmona DíazUniversidad Veracruzanagcarmona@uv.mxEl <strong>de</strong>rrame <strong>de</strong> petróleo en el manglar <strong>de</strong>l río Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, ocurridoel 22 <strong>de</strong> diciembre <strong>de</strong> 2004, modificó sustancialmente la estructura, composición yabundancia <strong>de</strong> las cuatro especies <strong>de</strong> mangles y <strong>de</strong> otras especies vegetales que crecenen este manglar. Durante el <strong>de</strong>rrame se afectó gran cantidad <strong>de</strong> plántulas y juveniles <strong>de</strong>Laguncularia racemosa y Avicennia germinans pero no se afectaron árboles adultos alcorto plazo. A seis años <strong>de</strong>l daño ecológico, se presentan datos <strong>de</strong> los cambiosecológicos registrados en siete áreas <strong>de</strong>l río Coatzacoalcos: Laguna <strong>de</strong> Pajaritos, ArroyoNuevo Teapa, Arroyo Gopalapa, Afluente Calzadas, La Isla, margen <strong>de</strong>recho y margenizquierdo. Se presentan los registros <strong>de</strong> la estructura, composición y abundancia <strong>de</strong> lasespecies <strong>de</strong> mangles antes <strong>de</strong>l <strong>de</strong>rrame (2002), durante el <strong>de</strong>rrame (2004 y 2005) yposterior al <strong>de</strong>rrame (2010). Se discute el grado <strong>de</strong> afectación encontrado en estemanglar <strong>de</strong>l sur <strong>de</strong> Veracruz por el <strong>de</strong>rrame <strong>de</strong> hidrocarburo y se evalúan si las accionesrealizadas en 2004 fueron las apropiadas a largo plazo para la conservación y el buenfuncionamiento ecológico <strong>de</strong> este manglar.85

La distribución <strong>de</strong>l manglar es preferentemente costera, sin embargo tambiénse encuentran en el interior <strong>de</strong>l estado en zonas sin influencia marina. Se tomaron datos<strong>de</strong> la estructura <strong>de</strong>l manglar en diferentes fechas y localida<strong>de</strong>s, en los sistemas fluviolacustres <strong>de</strong>l estado. Se usaron ecuaciones alométricas ya generadas para estimar labiomasa y carbono en pie acumulado. La ten<strong>de</strong>ncia general es la presencia <strong>de</strong> manglaresmixtos (Laguncularia – Rhizophora) en los ambientes fluviales y monoespecificos(Avicennia) en los lacustres. El or<strong>de</strong>n en la distribución <strong>de</strong> tamaños en los primeros esL. racemosa > R. mangle > A. germinans pero en los lacustres se invierte.Consi<strong>de</strong>ramos que la distribución en los tamaños <strong>de</strong>pen<strong>de</strong> <strong>de</strong> la geoforma sobre la cuálse <strong>de</strong>sarrollen. En las riberas y cuencas interfluviales, pue<strong>de</strong>n alcanzar alturas <strong>de</strong> 27 m ymás <strong>de</strong> 30 cm <strong>de</strong> DAP en tanto que en las planicies lodosas son menores.
