C.* oliviaher8@yahoo.com.mxEn ambientes inundados como los manglares las plántulas en espacios abiertosreciben más luz de la que pueden usar para fotosíntesis, bajo estas circunstancias, laregulación en la cosecha de luz es necesaria. Al evaluar la eficiencia fotosintética pormedio de la fluorescencia de la clorofila y curvas rápidas de luz en plántulas de Rhizophoramangle, Avicennia germinans y Laguncularia racemosa, que crecen bajo dos condicionescontrastantes de luz, determinamos que la utilización y disipación de la luz depende de lavariación y cantidad de luz que reciben durante el día. Se observaron diferenciassignificativas entre especies en la eficiencia fotosintética, la tasa de transporte de electronesmáxima, la cantidad de luz con la cual se satura el fotosistema II y en la disipación de calor.Las tres especies después de ser fotoinhibidas se recuperaron más del 80% por lo que tienenla capacidad de tolerar y disipar el exceso de luz al establecerse en espacios abiertos. Por lo47
tanto las plántulas analizadas presentan una amplia plasticidad para adaptarse a lascondiciones en las que se desarrollan a pesar de la alta salinidad y la fluctuación durante elhidroperiodo presentando una respuesta especie-especifica.48
