CLASIFICACIÓN DE LA VEGETACIÓN Y USO DEL SUELO DE COMPLEJOSDE HUMEDAL COSTERO SIN ESQUEMAS DE PROTECCIÓN EN CHIAPAS,MÉXICO.Ma. Patrocinio Alba López*, Darío Pascual Ramírez Jiménez, Patricia GonzálezDomínguez y Javier Rojas García*patrocinio@pronatura-sur.orgEn la estrategia <strong>de</strong> conservación “Consolidación <strong>de</strong> un corredor <strong>de</strong> humedalescosteros en Chiapas”, se planteó el objetivo <strong>de</strong> tener datos geográficos que permitandireccionar acciones <strong>de</strong> conservación y manejo. Se hizo una <strong>de</strong>limitación y clasificación <strong>de</strong>los tipos <strong>de</strong> vegetación y uso <strong>de</strong> suelo <strong>de</strong> humedales costeros <strong>de</strong> Chiapas a través <strong>de</strong>l uso yanálisis <strong>de</strong> imágenes <strong>de</strong> satélite Landsat ETM+ 2002 y recorridos <strong>de</strong> campo. La<strong>de</strong>limitación <strong>de</strong> los humedales se hizo con ArcMap 8.2, mediante la sobreposición <strong>de</strong>lInventario Nacional Forestal y las Áreas Naturales Protegidas <strong>de</strong> Chiapas. Para i<strong>de</strong>ntificarlos tipos <strong>de</strong> vegetación y uso <strong>de</strong>l suelo, se utilizó ERDAS Imagen 8.4 mediante unaclasificación supervisada con sitios <strong>de</strong> entrenamiento. El resultado fue para 6 complejos <strong>de</strong>humedal con 11 clases: <strong>Manglares</strong>, Dunas Costeras, Matorral Costero, Tular-popal, Selvas,Cultivos, Pastizal inducido, Vegetación riparia, Zona inundable, Playones, Agua y,Asentamientos humanos. Esta información permitió direccionar acciones <strong>de</strong> protección ycomo un primer paso para generar información para el manejo a través <strong>de</strong> datos a nivel <strong>de</strong>asociaciones vegetales.USO DE IMAGENES SATELITALES DE ALTA RESOLUCION ESPACIAL EN LAGENERACION DEL MAPA DE DISTRIBUCIÓN DE LOS MANGLARES DEMÉXICO Y DE LAS COBERTURAS QUE LOS RODEAN.María Teresa Rodríguez-Zúñiga*, Joanna Acosta-Velázquez, Carlos Troche-Souza,Abigail Uribe Martínez, María Isabel Cruz López, Rainer ResslComisión Nacional para el Conocimiento y Uso <strong>de</strong> la Biodiversidad*mrodrig@conabio.gob.mxEn las últimas dos décadas se ha <strong>de</strong>sarrollado un consi<strong>de</strong>rable número <strong>de</strong> trabajospara la generación <strong>de</strong> cartografía <strong>de</strong> manglares a nivel mundial, persiguiendo distintospropósitos <strong>de</strong> mapeo y escalas alcanzadas. El mapa <strong>de</strong> distribución <strong>de</strong> los manglares <strong>de</strong>41
México fue elaborado con 134 imágenes multiespectrales <strong>de</strong>l satélite SPOT-5, el 82 % <strong>de</strong>las imágenes SPOT fueron tomadas en los años 2005 y 2006. Estas imágenes fueroncorregidas geométrica y radiométricamente; los datos <strong>de</strong> las imágenes se seleccionaronaplicando máscaras, es <strong>de</strong>cir sólo se analizaron las áreas con alta probabilidad <strong>de</strong> presencia<strong>de</strong> manglar. Posteriormente, los datos <strong>de</strong>purados <strong>de</strong> las imágenes satelitales fueronsometidos a una serie <strong>de</strong> clasificaciones digitales utilizando clasificaciones no supervisadascon el algoritmo “ISODATA”. El resultado <strong>de</strong> todas las clasificaciones fue revisado ycorregido por interpretación visual. Una vez concluido el proceso <strong>de</strong> clasificación, lainformación obtenida fue transformada a formato vector, don<strong>de</strong> se realizó unageneralización <strong>de</strong> polígonos consi<strong>de</strong>rando como escala mínima cartografiable una hectárea,para generar un producto a escala 1:50,000. La superficie estimada <strong>de</strong> manglar a través <strong>de</strong>este método y con esta escala fue <strong>de</strong> 770,057 hectáreas. El mapa <strong>de</strong> las coberturas quero<strong>de</strong>an al manglar para los años 2005-2006, fue elaborado con las mismas imágenessatelitales utilizadas para obtener la cobertura <strong>de</strong> manglar. El área <strong>de</strong> estudio se <strong>de</strong>finióconsi<strong>de</strong>rando una zona buffer <strong>de</strong> 5 km alre<strong>de</strong>dor <strong>de</strong> los manglares, exceptuando las zonas<strong>de</strong> altitud mayor a 50 m, se utilizó el mismo método <strong>de</strong> clasificación y revisión que para elmapa <strong>de</strong> manglares.
