EVALUACIÓN DE LOS MANGLARES DEL ESTRUARIO DEL RÍO CAUTO,SU DISTRIBUCION Y RELACIÓN CON EL RECURSO PESQUERO OSTIÓNCRASSOSTREA RI ZOPHORAE.Joel Concepción-Villanueva*, Gustavo Arencibia-Carballo , Onelio CarballoHondal, Dayana Dumas, Yuliesky Garcés Rodríguez, Fernando Sánchez, y RaúlAlmeida.*joel.concepcion@gmail.comLa región <strong>de</strong>sembocadura río Cauto-Zona Costera golfo <strong>de</strong> Guacanayaboconstituye el más gran<strong>de</strong> y variado sistema <strong>de</strong>ltaico <strong>de</strong> Cuba y uno <strong>de</strong> los mássignificativos <strong>de</strong>l Caribe. Se expone la superficie actual <strong>de</strong>l manglar <strong>de</strong> dicha zona,evaluada por procesamiento digital <strong>de</strong> imágenes, utilizando el programa ENVI 4.5. Sereporta el área <strong>de</strong> manglar existente, y se compara con anteriores estudios. Se analiza ladistribución <strong>de</strong>l manglar en los aspectos: herbarios, <strong>de</strong>stacándose las especies arbóreasRhizophora mangle y Avicennia germinans; geomorfológicos don<strong>de</strong> predominan suelosorgánicos altamente salinizados con más <strong>de</strong> 30 % <strong>de</strong> materia orgánica en <strong>de</strong>posición; ehidrológicos marcado por el incremento <strong>de</strong> la salinidad <strong>de</strong>bido a la sequía y elrepresamiento. Se discute sobre las fuentes <strong>de</strong> contaminación e impacto ambiental queinci<strong>de</strong>n sobre el ecosistema; en especial, el efecto <strong>de</strong>l represamiento <strong>de</strong>l Sistema Cauto-Afluentes. Se <strong>de</strong>scribe las variables ambientales, el estado <strong>de</strong> los sedimentos y lacalidad <strong>de</strong>l agua y su influencia sobre los recursos pesqueros. enriquecen <strong>de</strong> cierta manera esta diversidad, a estas epifitas se asocian algunas especies<strong>de</strong> hormigas que encuentran en ellas un sitio en don<strong>de</strong> po<strong>de</strong>r anidar. Una <strong>de</strong> lasrelaciones más interesantes es la que existe entre plantas epifitas y especies <strong>de</strong>hormigas. Se recolectaron <strong>de</strong> manera directa especies <strong>de</strong> diferentes tipos <strong>de</strong> hormigasrevisando directamente las epifitas, el material se etiquetó con los datos <strong>de</strong> campo y elmaterial se <strong>de</strong>positó en la colección <strong>de</strong> hormigas <strong>de</strong> la Universidad <strong>de</strong> Quintana Roo.Los primeros 22 km a partir <strong>de</strong> su <strong>de</strong>sembocadura están ro<strong>de</strong>ados <strong>de</strong> mangle,predominando la especie Rhyzophora mangle, a pesar <strong>de</strong> existir otras especies sólo seconsi<strong>de</strong>ró a las epifitas <strong>de</strong> esta especie, a<strong>de</strong>más fueron consi<strong>de</strong>rados diferentes estados<strong>de</strong> perturbación así como la altura <strong>de</strong>l dosel. La recolecta fue directa y consistió en larevisión <strong>de</strong> las epifitas. En el presente trabajo se <strong>de</strong>scribe la taxocenosis <strong>de</strong> hormigasrelacionadas con las epifitas Tillansia jaguactalensis (2 especies), T. balbisiana (17especies), T. bulbosa (14 especies), T. streptophyla (10 especies) y la orquí<strong>de</strong>aMyrmecophila. christinae (43 especies).CARACTERIZACIÓN HIDROQUÍMICA DE LAS DESCARGAS DE AGUASUBTERRÁNEA EN LOS MANGLARES DE YUCATÁN.Molina-Chalé M., Pacheco-Avila J*., Zaldívar-Jiménez A y Pérez-Ceballos R.UADY, CINVESTAV UNIDAD MERIDA*pavila@uady.mxLa Península <strong>de</strong> Yucatán es una plataforma caliza, la cual carece <strong>de</strong> ríos, sinembargo existe un anillo <strong>de</strong> cenotes que actúa como un río subterráneo, el cualconcentra y conduce el agua subterránea hacia la zona costera <strong>de</strong> Dzilam y <strong>de</strong> Celestún;<strong>de</strong>scargando en el humedal costero mediante manantiales, llevando consigo sustanciasdisueltas como los nutrientes, importantes para el <strong>de</strong>sarrollo <strong>de</strong> la vegetación <strong>de</strong>manglar. Actualmente, se tiene poco conocimiento sobre la concentración <strong>de</strong> losnutrientes en los manantiales costeros, por lo que el objetivo fue evaluar laconcentración <strong>de</strong>l nitrógeno, fósforo y potasio en 14 manantiales <strong>de</strong> la costa <strong>de</strong> Yucatán:4 en Celestún (Oeste); 5 en Dzilam <strong>de</strong> Bravo (Este) y 5 en la zona comprendida entreCelestún y Dzilam <strong>de</strong> Bravo (Centro). Se colectaron muestras para <strong>de</strong>terminar latemperatura, pH, oxígeno disuelto, nitrógeno total Kjeldahl, nitrógeno amoniacal,nitrógeno como nitritos y nitrógeno como nitratos, fósforo como fosfatos y el iónpotasio.
