11.1. Additional refrigerant charging■■This outdoor unit is factory charged with refrigerant anddepending on pipe sizes and pipe lengths some systems requireadditional charging of refrigerant. See "11.3. Charging amount"on page 11.In case re-charge is required, refer to the nameplate of the unit.It states the type of refrigerant and necessary amount.11.2. Precautions when adding R410A■■■The refrigerant requires strict cautions for keeping the systemclean, dry and tight.- Clean and dryForeign materials (including mineral oils or moisture) shouldbe prevented from getting mixed into the system.- TightRead "9. Precautions on refrigerant piping" on page 7carefully and follow these procedures correctly.Make sure to charge the refrigerant in liquid state to the liquidpipe. Since R410A is a mixed refrigerant, its compositionchanges if charged in its gaseous state and normal systemoperation would then no longer be assured.Before charging, check whether the refrigerant cylinder has asyphon attached or not and position the cylinder accordingly.Filling using a cylinderwith a siphon attachedCharge the liquid refrigerantwith the cylinder in uprightposition.11.3. Charging amountIf the total length of the piping exceeds 32.8 ft (10 m), additionallycharge with 0.013 lbs/ft (20 g/m) for each additional foot (meter) ofpiping.12. PUMP DOWN OPERATIONIn order to protect the environment, be sure to pump down whenrelocating or disposing of the unit. The pump down operation willextract all regrigerant from the piping into the outdoor unit.12.1. Procedure1 Turn on the main power supply.2 Make sure the liquid stop valve and the gas stop valve are open(see "How to use the stop valve" on page 8).3 Press the forced operation switch SW1 to begin forced cooling.4 After 5-10 minutes (after only 1 or 2 minutes in case of very lowambient temperatures (
