Study and publication of Lima’s Archbishop ArchiveRevista STUDIUM VERITATIS, Año 11, N. 17, 2013 (pp.121-191)Abstract: In the Archiepiscopal Archive of Lima we find unpublishedcorrespondence among several Latin American archbishops as well as bishopswith Farfán, the archbishop of Lima. In 1938, the prelate of Lima writes tohis colleagues to invite them to raise their pleads to Pope Pius XI in orderto obtain the extension of Santo Toribio de Mogrovejo’s liturgical Officeand Mass to the universal Church; such a collegial Episcopal initiative willresult in the saint’s title as Patron of Latin American Episcopate in 1983.The present work is based in the proper method of historical research andis compounded of introduction, documentary material and its respectivecontent as well as the initiative remote origin.
