5 ASUNTOS DE EMISIÓN DE INFORMES FINANCIEROS 5.1 Prácticas y Políticas Contables utilizadas por el Cliente AP – 29 Impocom Almar Cía. Ltda. hasta Diciembre de 2002 mantenía un Departamento Contable con 3 personas, un CPA y dos auxiliares, que trabajaban utilizando un sistema informático de registro contable con base en lenguaje UNIX desarrollado en 1983 y poco confiable. Debido a que el sistema contable utilizado permitía solamente contabilizar cuentas globales consolidadas y todos los auxiliares fueron procesados a través de una hoja de cálculo, entonces, en opinión del Jefe de Contabilidad existe una gran probabilidad de un factor de errores humanos en el procesamiento de la información. Las políticas contables utilizadas por la empresa, para cada una de las cuentas importantes, durante el año de auditoría se describen a continuación. Cuenta Inventarios: Los inventarios se valoran sumando a su costo inicial el 12% del IVA y el 10,45% adicional. Se llevó un auxiliar extracontable de movimientos de inventarios para contabilizar a fin de mes las compras y las ventas. Cuenta Cuentas por Cobrar: La empresa compró a inicios del período auditado un sistema informático de facturación y control de cartera. Utilizando como referencia un reporte del sistema indicado, a final del mes, el departamento de contabilidad sumaba cada factura y contabilizaba el total vendido en el mes y la cartera por cobrar; para registrar el pago de cartera, los clientes enviaban una copia de los depósitos realizados directamente por ellos y contabilidad registraba. También, una gran parte de los clientes optaron por dejar cheques post fechados que eran depositados por el departamento de contabilidad en el día de su vencimiento. Cuenta activos: los registros se realizaron al momento de la compra utilizando como evidencia y sustento los montos indicados en la factura entregada por el vendedor. La depreciación o amortización de los mismo se calculó y registró al final del año. Cuenta provisión para cuentas incobrables: se decidió que sea el 1% del total de ventas anuales y se la contabilizó al final del año.
