Milwaukee: TNCs are responsible for conducting a Multi-‐State, Multi-‐Jurisdictional, or <br />
commercial records (with validation) database search and a search of the National Sex <br />
Offender Registry for each applicant. Applicants who have been convicted, in the past 7 <br />
years, of fraud sexual offenses, use of a motor vehicle to commit a felony, property damage, <br />
theft, acts of violence, or acts of terror must be refused. TNCs must also reject all applicants <br />
who match the National Sex Offenders Registry. <br />
Milwaukee: A fingerprint based record check is run, covering the past 10 years. The police <br />
may object to an applicant, at their discretion. A provisional permit requires that a driver <br />
state that they have not been convicted of a felony or violent offence in the past two years. <br />
By default, record checks are conducted by the Milwaukee Police Department, but the <br />
department may, with council permission, designate third parties to conduct checks. <br />
Minneapolis: Records must be kept for 3 years. Those with felony convictions in the past 5 <br />
years are unable to drive on a transportation network. Those with violence, drug, <br />
indecency, or prostitution related misdemeanors in the past 3 years also may not drive on a <br />
transportation network. <br />
Oklahoma City: The TNC is responsible for providing a background check. Individuals <br />
convicted within the 7 years of any felony or misdemeanor offense involving violence, <br />
sexual offense, drug or alcohol related offense, and/or felony theft or burglary are <br />
disqualified from driving. <br />
Seattle: The TNC is responsible for reviewing criminal background checks and maintaining <br />
records (presumably for as long as they are driving for the TNC). Drivers convicted of any <br />
traffic or criminal offence directly bearing on their fitness, including but not limited to theft, <br />
fraud, robbery, burglary, assault, sex crimes, alcohol, drugs, or prostitution, are not <br />
permitted to drive. (approved third party background check vendors need only access 5 <br />
years of history) <br />
Spokane: Driver must have never been convicted of fraud, sexual offenses, use of a motor <br />
vehicle to commit a felony, a crime involving property damage and/or theft, acts of violance, <br />
or acts of terror. Records of checks must be maintained for two years. <br />
St. Paul: Drivers may not be under sentence or have been discharged from sentence for a <br />
felony conviction within the past 10 years for: Murder, manslaughter, criminal vehicular <br />
homicide and injury, assault, criminal sexual conduct, indecent conduct, or any violation of <br />
controlled substances laws that is punishable by a sentence of 15 years or more. The same <br />
applies to all felony convictions within the past 5 years and any non-‐traffic gross <br />
misdemeanors or non-‐traffic misdemeanors within the past 3 years (the 5 year and 3 year <br />
disqualifications can be waived upon evidence of rehabilitation if the offense is not related <br />
to being a taxi driver). <br />
Tulsa: TNCs are responsible for checking local and national criminal records as well as the <br />
National Sex Offender Registry. Registered sex offenders and those with outstanding <br />
warrants may not drive for a TNC. Additionally, individuals convicted of a misdemeanor <br />
involving prostitution related offenses, public lewdness, sexual offenses, assualt and <br />
battery, or controlled substance related offenses, in the past 5 years are also barred from
