Colorado: Colorado prohibits those with felony fraud, unlawful sexual behavior, offenses <br />

against property, or crimes of violence on their record from driving on a TNCs network. <br />

Other felonies result in a 5 year prohibition. <br />

Columbus: Columbus requires national, state, and local background checks that include <br />

fingerprinting. Within the last 7 years, a prospective driver may not have any convictions <br />

for violent felonies, weapons violations, or prostitution/drug trafficking <br />

felonies/misdemeanors on their record. They also may not be registered sex offenders or <br />

sexual predators. <br />

Dallas: Driver permit applicants may not have any outstanding warrants in Texas. <br />

Different exclusion periods apply to different types of offenses. Felonies require that five <br />

years have passed <strong>sin</strong>ce the date of conviction and date of release from confinement. <br />

Misdemeanors require two, or five if two misdemeanor convictions occurred in a 24 month <br />

period. Offenses to which these periods apply include, criminal homicide, kidnapping, <br />

sexual offenses, assaultive offenses, robbery, felony weapons possesion/carrying/transfer, <br />

felony violation of the Dangerous Drugs Act, felony violation of the Controlled Substances <br />

Act, or criminal attempt to commit any of the previously listed offences. <br />

Even after the required time has passed, the regulator must determine that the applicant is <br />

fit to be a driver. The regulator will consider the extent and nature of past criminal activity, <br />

age at the time of the crime, time <strong>sin</strong>ce last criminal act, conduct prior to and following the <br />

crime, evidence of rehabilitation or effort towards it, letters of recommendation from <br />

prosecutors, law enforcement, and other people in contact with the applicant. <br />

DC: PVFHCs are required obtain a local and national criminal record check and a search of <br />

the National Sex Offender Registry for each driver. The check must be conducted by a third <br />

party accredited by the National Association of Professional Background Screeners. If an <br />

applicant is a match to the national sex offender registry database or has been convicted <br />

within the past 7 years of a crime of violence, Anti-­‐Sexual Abuse Act offense, DC Protection <br />

of Minors Act offense, robbery, attempted robbery, felony fraud, or felony identity theft, <br />

then they are not permitted to work as a driver. <br />

Detroit: Rasier is required to obtain and a review a national criminal background check <br />

including the national sex offender database. No one may be permitted to use Rasier’s <br />

platform who has been convicted of “fraud, sexual offenses, use of a motor vehicle to <br />

commit a felony, a crime involving property damage, and/or theft, acts of violance, or acts of <br />

terror.” <br />

Houston: Prospective drivers must undergo a fingerprint background check. An individual <br />

cannot become a driver if they have been convicted in the past 10 years of drug use, drug <br />

sale, rape, sexual assault, sexual abuse, indecency with a child, a crime that resulted in them <br />

being classified as a registered sex offender, a violation of state or federal laws regulating <br />

firearms, an offense involving fraud or theft, an offense involving forgery, an offency <br />

involving the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, an offence involving prostitution or the <br />

promotion of it, or an offence involving violance other than those classified as a Class C <br />

misdemeanor or lesser.
