Hay una <strong>con</strong>siderable variabilidad en la<br />
respuesta del programa Ovsynch. Los<br />
resultados parecen estar influenciados por<br />
el estatus de celo de las vacas, su edad (las<br />
novillas responden de forma pobre) y el<br />
momento específico de tratamiento e inseminación.<br />
Parece importante realizar una<br />
mayor investigación y <strong>con</strong>sideraciones<br />
para este enfoque. Cavalieri et al. (2006)<br />
revisaron recientemente en un nuevo estudio<br />
la manipulación y <strong>con</strong>trol del ciclo del<br />
estro en vacas en pasto, y <strong>con</strong>cluyeron que<br />
la tasa de <strong>con</strong>cepción alcanzada, generalmente<br />
era de, aproximadamente, el 33%.<br />
Esto puede observarse en los resultados<br />
que se han alcanzado en vacas <strong>con</strong> anestro<br />
y <strong>con</strong> celo en los estudios en Australia y<br />
Nueva Zelanda, como mostraron Cavalieri<br />
et al. (2006,) y se observa en la tabla de la<br />
página anterior. Puede ser aceptado si este<br />
nivel de fertilidad es normal para un área,<br />
pero también puede representar una<br />
reducción de fertilidad en otros ambientes.<br />
El OvSynch comprende la<br />
utilización de un programa<br />
de GnRH, seguido de una<br />
inyección de prostaglandina<br />
F2α, 7 días después, y un<br />
segundo tratamiento de<br />
GnRH, 24 o 48 horas después<br />
de dicha inyección.<br />
El coste y los múltiples tratamientos<br />
que involucra el programa Ovsynch pueden<br />
limitar su uso en Nueva Zelanda, además<br />
de su falta de eficacia en novillas. •<br />
