PROBLEM CAUSES SOLUTION PRODUCT
TURBID WATER
Too much organic
waste, poor
filtration, inadequate
disinfection.
Check the filter, do a backwash and
increase filtration time. If necessary,
clean out the sand with NETAFILTROS.
Provide a DIAFLOC treatment. Check
and adjust pH with DIAMINUS or
DIAMAS as appropriate. Should
turbidity persist carry out a shock
chlorination.
GREEN WATER
WITH ALGAE
Excessive amount of
micro-organisms in
the water. Insufficient
algaecide.
Remove algae build-up on walls and
bottom with a brush. Check and
adjust pH with DIAMINUS. Carry out a
shock chlorination with DIACLOR GR
60. Add flocculant and an additional
double amount of DIQUAT 15. Increase
filtration time until the water regains its
blue colour.
HARD TO RECOVER
WATER
Excessive growth of
algae and abundance
of organic matter.
Adjust water pH. Carry out a shock
treatment with 50 g of DIASTAR per
cubic metre of water. Increase filtration
time until the water regains its blue
colour. Readjust the pH if necessary.
FOAM
Presence of
chloramines and
organic matter.
Partially empty the pool and add
DIACLORAMIN. Adjust the pH and
chlorine levels.
BROWN SPOTS
Acidic or corrosive
water that rusts metal
parts.
Check and adjust pH with DIAMINUS
PH. Check chlorine level and adjust it.
ITCHY EYES AND
EXCESSIVE ODOUR
OF CHLORINE
Improperly adjusted
pH, possible increase
of chloramine content.
Check and adjust pH with DIAMINUS
PH or DIAMAS PH as appropriate.
Analyse the chlorine level and if it
is too low, then carry out a shock
chlorination with DIACLOR GR 60 or use
DIACLORAMIN.
ALMOST
TRANSPARENT
WATER
Water remaining after
filling, after a storm, or
when the pool cleaner
has been passed too
quickly.
Adjust pH with DIAMINUS or DIAMAS
as appropriate. Wash the backwash
filter. Add DIACLOR GR 60 and 2 bags of
DIAFLOC PS in the skimmers, increasing
filtering time.
SCALE BUILD-UP
Hard water.
Adjust pH with DIAMINUS. Add DIACAL:
3 litres per 100 m 3 to start with and
then 1 litre every fortnight.
