Estimados pasajeros:
l pasado día 9 de marzo, presentamos en Valencia las imágenes
del primer reactor de la nueva serie CRJ1000 de Bombardier en
primicia mundial. Se trataba de una serie de fotografías del avión
tomadas en un hangar del fabricante en Montreal (Canadá).
La ocasión para nosotros era ciertamente especial por dos motivos.
En primer lugar, porque ese reactor destinado a liderar la nueva
generación de aviones regionales que surcarán los cielos en la
próxima década es ahora una realidad tangible y próxima. Y, en
segundo lugar, porque nos gusta “sentir los colores” y comprobar
que el primer CRJ1000 en salir de la cadena de montaje, ya está
pintado con la librea de AIR NOSTRUM y listo para incorporarse a
nuestra flota en octubre de este año. Si ser el cliente lanzador de
cualquier nuevo modelo de avión representa un motivo de legítimo
orgullo, que AIR NOSTRUM haya sido la compañía elegida para
estrenar el producto estrella de Bombardier antes que ninguna otra
aerolínea en el mundo, es todo un honor.
La familia CRJ (Canadair Regional Jet) constituye el mayor éxito de
ventas de la aviación regional. Tras la revolución que supuso al
comienzo de los años 90, la llegada al mercado del modelo CRJ200
de 50 plazas –con cerca de 1.100 unidades fabricadas– a día de hoy
se han vendido más de 600 aviones de las series CRJ700, CRJ900
y CRJ1000 de módulo 70, 90 y 100 respectivamente. Sus excelentes
prestaciones y la fiabilidad de su mecánica, les han hecho ser los
aviones preferidos por pilotos y técnicos de mantenimiento en más de
70 aerolíneas.
¿Y va a aportar algo realmente diferencial el CRJ1000 a la flota de AIR
NOSTRUM? La respuesta es SÍ. ¿Saben por qué?
Porque nos permitirá reducir en un 32% los costes operacionales por
asiento. El CRJ1000 es el reactor más ligero de su segmento –232 Kg.
por pasajero de peso al despegue, frente a los 336 Kg. por pasajero de
un Airbus 318 p.ej.– y ello supondrá tasas más reducidas, menor
consumo de combustible durante el vuelo, menor índice de emisiones
de CO 2 y mayor respeto con el medio ambiente. Además, la incorporación
del CRJ1000 a nuestra compañía representará un considerable
ahorro de costes en formación de pilotos y mecánicos, habida cuenta
de la complementariedad con el resto de la flota CRJ de AIR NOSTRUM.
El CRJ1000 es el mejor reactor regional del mercado, el avión que
presenta más comodidades para el pasaje dentro de los de su gama, y
el aparato que mejor se adopta a los objetivos a medio y largo plazo
que se ha marcado AIR NOSTRUM. Por eso nuestra compañía incorporará
35 unidades de este modelo entre 2010 y 2016 así como
10 turbohélices ATR 72-600 (con 10 opciones de compra adicionales).
Toda una apuesta en firme para mantener el liderazgo
europeo.
Esta nueva flota, más moderna, cómoda y eficiente es la que nos
permitirá seguir conquistando el futuro. Y para lograr ese
apasionante reto y ganarnos el mañana, día tras día, queremos

Dear Passengers,
IR NOSTRUM presented, on 9th March, 2010, images of the world
premiere of the Bombardier CRJ1000 regional jet. This series of
photographs of the CRJ1000 were taken in one of Bombardier’s hangars in
Montreal (Canada).
It was a special day for us. Firstly, because the new CRJ1000 regional jet,
destined to lead, over the next decade, the next generation of regional
jets across the skies, will soon be a tangible reality. Secondly, because
much to our satisfaction, the first CRJ1000 regional jet off the production
line will be flying the AIR NOSTRUM ‘flag’, ready to become, next
October, part of the AIR NOSTRUM aircraft fleet. Being chosen to launch
any type of aircraft model is, as I am sure you will agree, a great honour,
When, however, the aircraft is Bombardier’s star product, it is, without a
doubt, a double or triple honour.
The CRJ (Canadair Regional Jet) aircraft series is considered one of the
most successful series on the regional aviation market. Following the
regional aviation market revolution that took place during the 1990’s
following the launch of the 50-seater CRJ200 regional jet of which a total
1,100 units were manufactured; Bombardier has sold over 600 units of
its 70-seater CRJ700, 90-seater CRJ900 and the 100-seater CRJ1000.
The excellent equipment and reliability of the mechanics of this regional
aviation jet has turned it into one of the favourite aircrafts of pilots and
maintenance technicians from over 70 regional aviation airlines.
But will the CRJ1000 really make a difference to the AIR NOSTRUM aircraft
fleet? The answer is YES. Do you know why?
It will make a difference because this new acquisition will allow us to
reduce the operation cost per seat by 32%. The CRJ1000 is the lightest
regional jet in its market segment - 232 kg. per passenger during takeoff
compared to the 336 kg. per passenger of the Airbus A318. This
means a reduction in taxes, fuel consumption and CO 2 gas emissions
and an increase in environmental respect. The incorporation of the
CRJ1000 in our aircraft fleet also represents considerable savings in
the training of pilots and mechanics thanks to its compatibility with the
rest of the fleet.
The CRJ1000 is the best regional aviation jet on the market. It offers
one of the highest levels of passenger comfort in its range and is the
most suitable aircraft for achieving the medium and long term
objectives set by AIR NOSTRUM. It is for this reason our Company
will be incorporating 35 units of this outstanding regional jet model
between 2010 and 2016. We shall also be incorporating 10 ATR
72-600 turbo aircraft (with sales options for a further 10 units).
Our aim is to maintain our European leadership.
This new aircraft fleet with its modern, comfortable and efficient
aircraft will permit us to continue conquering the future.

complementarán el peregrinar por Castilla y León.

n cada una de las etapas podemos disfrutar de alojamientos en posadas reales,
castillos, monasterios o balnearios… que nos permitan encontrar ese descanso
merecido; campos de golf para disfrutar del deporte o visitas a lugares de interés cultural,
sin olvidar la gastronomía. Una forma diferente para recorrer el Camino de Santiago
Francés, y descubrir la historia, el arte, la cultura... la esencia de la Ruta Jacobea en
Castilla y León, “a cuerpo de rey”.

Iniciamos el camino por tierras burgalesas y llegamos a Redecilla del Camino.
Proseguimos hasta el Monasterio de San Juan de Ortega, primer enclave típicamente
jacobeo fundado para dar cobijo y servicio a los peregrinos. Visitaremos los Yacimientos
Arqueológicos de la Sierra de Atapuerca y la ciudad de Burgos con su catedral.
Ahora toca descansar y para ello: el Castillo Señorío de Olmillos de Sasamón, el Monasterio
Palacio de la Merced en Burgos y los Balnearios de Valdelateja y Corconte.
Un alto en el Camino
Merece la pena llegar hasta Lerma para disfrutar de su historia y patrimonio, divertirnos
en su campo de golf o incluso alojarnos en el Palacio Ducal, convertido en Parador.

and Spas offering first rate accommodation as well cultural visits, mouth-watering
cuisine and the odd golf course. A unique way to travel the Way of St. James,
discovering the local history, art, culture and essence of this Jacobean Route in Castilla
y Leon, a pilgrim route “Fit for a king”.

REDECILLA DEL CAMINO - BURGOS

Travellers should begin their Castilla y Leon adventure in the province of Burgos,
stopping off at Redecilla del Camino. From here, they should continue to the Monastery
of San Juan de Ortega, considered the first Jacobean enclave to provide pilgrims with
food and a roof over their heads. Whilst here, travellers should not miss a visit to
the Sierra de Atapuerca Archaeological Site and the city of Burgos with its famous
cathedral. For those looking for a place to rest, we would suggest the Señorio de Olmillos
Castle, the Merced Monastery and Palace and the Valdelateja and Corconte spas.
A stop on the Way
Whilst here, travellers might like to stop off at Lerma with its magnificent history
and patrimony, golf course and splendid Ducal Palace, home of a national Parador
hotel.

Nos ponemos en marcha y antes de llegar a tierras palentinas visitaremos Castrojeriz.
Proseguiremos hasta Frómista donde contemplaremos la Iglesia de San Martín y la triple
esclusa del Canal de Castilla, obra de ingeniería hidráulica, cuyo objetivo era unir la Meseta
castellana con el Mar Cantábrico.
En Villalcázar de Sirga visitaremos la iglesia de Santa María la Blanca, antiguo
asentamiento templario. Seguiremos hasta Carrión de los Condes, ciudad del Camino que
llegó a tener hasta una docena de hospitales para peregrinos. También conoceremos el
afamado friso de la Iglesia de Santiago y el Real Monasterio de San Zoilo. Este último una
buena opción de descanso.
Un alto en el Camino
Al norte de Carrión de los Condes y muy cerca de Saldaña, se encuentra la Villa
Romana de La Olmeda, una de las mejores del mundo, en la que destacan sus mosaicos.

En tierras leonesas llegamos a Sahagún, localidad en la que domina el arte mudéjar.
El camino prosigue por Mansilla de las Mulas. Pasaremos por el Palacio de los
Guzmanes y la Casa de Botines (obra de Antonio Gaudí), la Catedral gótica y la Real
Basílica de San Isidoro antes de proseguir hacia el Convento de San Marcos, con su
primorosa fachada plateresca, convertido en Parador de Turismo, uno de los lugares
idóneos para alojarse y reponer fuerzas, y para relajarse el Balneario de Caldas de Luna.
Un alto en el Camino
Muy cerca de esta ruta, encontramos dos joyas artísticas del arte leonés, como son la
iglesia mozárabe de San Miguel de Escalada y el Monasterio de Santa María de
Gradefes.

Salimos de León para encontrarnos con el Santuario de la Virgen del Camino,
arquitectura religiosa modernista. Para continuar disfrutando del modernismo llegamos a
Astorga encrucijada del Camino de Santiago y la Vía de la Plata y donde, además de su
Catedral, podremos visitar el Palacio Episcopal, obra de Antonio Gaudí.
Proseguimos hacia Ponferrada, pasamos por Rabanal del Camino, Foncebadón y
la Cruz de Ferro, donde cumplir con el rito de lanzar una piedra, recogida en el camino,
al montón sobre el que se sustenta la Cruz. Concluye la jornada en Ponferrada con su
afamado castillo templario desde donde se protegía a los peregrinos que iban a Santiago.
Para reposar una opción son estas Posadas Reales: Casa de Tepa en Astorga, La Hostería
Camino en Luyego de Somoza y la Lechería en Val de San Lorenzo.
Un alto en el Camino
Entre Astorga y Santa Catalina de Somoza, encontramos Castrillo de los Polvazares,
un pueblo detenido en el tiempo que conserva su arquitectura tradicional y es conocido
por su popular Cocido Maragato.

BURGOS - CARRION DE LOS CONDES

Before reaching the province of Palencia, we would suggest travellers visit Castrojeriz
and Fromista where they will find the Church of San Martin and the triple lock of
the Castilla Canal, a magnificent piece of hydraulic engineering designed to link the
Castilian plain with the Cantabrian Sea.
From here, we would suggest travellers continue on to Villalcazar de Sirga, home
of the Church of Santa Maria la Blanca, an ancient Templar Knight settlement. From
here, travellers should continue on to Carrion de los Condes, famous for once housing
a dozen or so pilgrim hospices. Finally, we would suggest a visit to the Church of
Santiago with its famous frieze and the San Zoilo Royal Monastery where travellers
will be able to spend the night if they wish.
A stop on the Way
To the north of Carrion de los Condes, close to Saldaña, travellers will find the La
Olmeda Roman Villa, one of the world’s best conserved Roman villas, famous for its
impressive mosaics.

For the next stage on this journey, we would suggest travellers continue to Sahagun,
a locality famous for its Mudejar art, Mansilla de las Mulas and, finally, the city of
Leon. Here travellers should look out for the Guzmanes Palace and Botines House (by
Antonio Gaudi), the Gothic style Cathedral of Leon, the Royal Basilica of San Isidoro
before either continuing on to the Convent of San Marcos Parador Hotel with its
exquisite Plateresque style façade, an ideal place for spending the night, or the Caldas
de Luna Spa.
A stop on the Way
Close to here stand two local artistic jewels: the Mozarabic style Church of San
Miguel de Escalada and the Monastery of Santa Maria de Gradefes, both worth a visit.

LEON-PONFERRADA

From Leon, we would recommend travellers travel to the Sanctuary of the Virgen
del Camino, a Modernist style religious monument. For those interested in visiting more
local Modernist architecture, we would suggest they head towards Astorga, with its
Way of St. James and Silver Route crossroads. In addition to its magnificent cathedral,
we would also suggest a visit to the Bishop’s Palace also designed by Antonio Gaudi.
From here, we would suggest travellers continue to Ponferrada and on to Rabanal
del Camino, Foncebadon and Cruz de Ferro, where we would invite them to continue
with the ancient custom of throwing a stone picked up along the way onto the pile
of stones supporting the local Way of St. James cross. This part of the journey ends
at Ponferrada with its famous Templar Knight castle where pilgrims would, during
ancient times, have found protection. For those looking for accommodation, we would
suggest they try one of the following royal hostels: The Casa de Tepa in Astorga, La
Hostería Camino in Luyego de Somoza, Casa Pepa in Santa Colomba de Somoza,
Camarga in Santiago Millas and the Lechería in Val de San Lorenzo.

En nuestra última etapa nos desviaremos para conocer el Valle del Silencio. Luego nos
dirigimos hacia Cacabelos, centro de la gran hoya berciana.
La última parada Villafranca del Bierzo, en la Puerta del Perdón de la Iglesia de
Santiago, donde según cuenta la tradición los peregrinos impedidos recibían las mismas
indulgencias que se reciben en la Catedral de Santiago.
Tan sólo nos separan 28 km de Alto de Cebreiro y varios pueblos como Vega de
Valcarce, La Faba y Laguna de Castilla, son las últimas poblaciones del Camino en
Castilla y León.
Un alto en el Camino
Próximo a Ponferrada se encuentra el Monumento Natural de Las Médulas, considerado
la mayor explotación de oro a cielo abierto de la época romana

Travellers should, between Astorga and Santa Catalina de Somoza, look out for
Castrillo de los Polvazares, an ancient village where time seems to have stood still,
famous for its traditional architecture and delicious Maragato stew amongst other things.
Km. 58.5 PONFERRADA-O CEBREIRO

On the final part of this route, visitors should take some time to visit the “Valle del
Silencio” (Valley of Silence). From here, we would suggest they continue to Cacabelos
and its famous “olla Berciana”.
Villafranca del Bierzo is the final stop before the “Puerta del Perdon”, famous
entrance to the Church of Santiago where, according to tradition, the disabled received
the same Indulgence as the one received by ordinary pilgrims in the Cathedral of
Santiago de Compostela.
Just 28 km. from Santiago de Compostela, travellers will find Vega de Valcarce,
La Faba and Laguna de Castilla, the last villages on the Way of St. James Pilgrim
Route in Castilla y Leon.
A stop on the Way
Close to Ponferrada stands the Monumento Natural de Las Medulas, considered
the largest open-air Roman gold mine in the world.

Sánchez
Nacido en Pola de Gordón, León, en 1982, Sergio Sánchez se ha convertido
recientemente en subcampeón del mundo de 3.000 metros indoor en Doha,
hecho que le da mucha confianza para sus siguientes objetivos deportivos. Se
considera una persona tranquila, y su forma de vida gira en torno al atletismo y
vida sana, aficiones que comparte con sus amigos.
¿C
ómo nació tu interés por el atletismo?
De pequeño con 11 años existía un club llamado Car La Robla, muy cerca de mi
pueblo, y para mí fichar por el Car era como fichar por el Barça, un sueño. Así que me fui
a las pistas de atletismo de La Robla y pronto me vio un entrenador (Morgan) que me
introdujo en el club.
¿Cómo te sientes al batir el récord de Europa que ostentaba Alberto García?
He cumplido un sueño. Cuando Alberto batió ese récord simplemente aluciné al verle
correr. Y desde entonces había soñado con sentir lo mismo.

¿Te ves con capacidad para derrotar a Kenenisa Bekele?
Sí. Creo que moviéndome en tiempos cercanos o inferiores a 7.30 se le puede derrotar, su
marca son 7.30.
¿A qué crees que es debida la hegemonía durante tanto tiempo de los africanos
en esta modalidad deportiva?
“
A que viven de una forma diferente, y nosotros hemos estado acomplejados. Espero que
esto que estoy haciendo sea un referente para demostrar que no somos inferiores, en todo
caso más acomodados.
Born in Pola de Gordon, Leon, in 1982, Sergio Sanchez recently became
runner up in the 3,000 m. running event at the World Indoor Championships
in Doha. This victory has increased his confidence with regard to forthcoming
sporting objectives. He describes himself as a calm person, dedicated to
athletics and a healthy life which he loves sharing with his friends.
hen did you first become interested in athletics?
W I was about 11-years-old when I first became interested in athletics. There was
an athletics club called Car La Robla close to where I lived. Being accepted by
the Car was like being accepted by the Barcelona football club. I was running at the
La Robla race track when a trainer (Mr. Morgan) spotted me and introduced me to
the Car La Robla Club.
How does it feel to have broken the European record set up by Alberto Garcia?
It feels like a dream come true. I was amazed when Alberto broke the previous
European record. After than, I spent a lot of time dreaming about being the one to
break his record.
Do you think you will be able to improve your own record and perhaps break the
present world record?
I will be trying in 2011. I believe I can do. I would like to try here in Spain as I feel it
could be an important day in the history of Spanish athletics. It would be really nice
and a lot easier if I was accompanied by people I love and who love me.
Do you feel you can beat the runner Bekele from Kenya?
Yes, if I managed to maintain a time around 7.30 minutes or less, I would have a
chance. His record is actually 7.30 minutes.
Why do you think this sport has been dominated by the Africans for so long?
Their lifestyle is very different from ours. We have gradually become complex ridden.
I hope that what I am doing will demonstrate that we are not inferior, we have just
become a little too self satisfied.

Desde el pasado 14 de marzo eres subcampeón del mundo de 3.000 metros,
¿qué significa este logro?
Sin duda el mayor logro de mi carrera. Cruzar la meta y darte cuenta que eres subcampeón
del mundo es una sensación única. Una forma inmejorable de culminar una temporada de
invierno que sin duda es la mejor de mi vida.
¿Cómo planeaste tu estrategia de cara a la carrera?
Con paciencia y tratando de que los nervios no se apoderasen de mí. La tensión era
máxima y dar la cara antes de tiempo podía significar quedarte sin medalla. Así que me
limité a esperar a que otros lo hicieran. Salió perfecto.
¿Cuál es tu siguiente objetivo?
Ahora todo mi esfuerzo va dirigido al Campeonato de Europa de verano en pista, que
se celebrará en Barcelona. En los 5.000 metros, y en realizar una marca inferior a los
13 minutos. Sería el primer español en bajar de los 13 minutos.
¿Cómo es un día en la vida de Sergio Sánchez?
A las 10 de la mañana en pie. Desayuno, y veo las noticias a través de internet. A las
11.30 estoy en mi primera sesión de entrenamiento, ya sea en el monte o en el paseo del
río de León. A las 14.30 como, me hecho una siestecita, y a las 18.00 de nuevo entrenamiento
en las pistas de atletismo, o rodaje y gimnasio. A las 20.15 tres días por semana
tengo masaje. Y si no, pues cena, messenger un ratillo, charlar con los amigos, y a las 12
de la noche a la cama.
¿Qué consejos darías a los jóvenes que se están iniciando en el atletismo?
Que tengan ilusión por mejorar día a día y que se centren en ellos mismos y en mejorar
sus tiempos, que sean humildes, y disfruten día a día de los entrenamientos. Y que valoren
las victorias y aprendan de las derrotas. Hay momentos buenos y malos. Esto da muchas
vueltas.
¿Nos podrías contar alguna anécdota deportiva?
En el año 2001 mi espíritu ganador me llevó a retirarme en una final del Campeonato de
España cuando a falta de 30 metros iba segundo. El tercero venía a 50 metros. Iban dos al
Europeo y el seleccionador me dejó en casa. Pero en ese momento no lo pensé, y tuve que
ver el Europeo por la tele.
¿Cómo eres en tu vida personal? ¿Qué gustos y aficiones tienes?
Mis amistades son casi todos compañeros de entrenamiento. Entonces hacemos una vida
sana. Nuestra fiesta es ir a sitios tranquilos a conversar y tomarnos refrescos y dulces, y
hasta horas muy tempranas. Mis aficiones las motos, tengo cuatro. Una de cross, una
“rutera”, una de carretera, y una scooter. Siempre con cuidado, que vivo de mis piernas.
Vuelas frecuentemente con AIR NOSTRUM, ¿qué aspectos destacarías de la
compañía?
Por supuesto. Tiene vuelos desde León. Sin ir más lejos a Valencia para batir ese record
de Europa de 3.000 viajé en AIR NOSTRUM. Un trato muy cercano. Y ofrecen un buen
servicio.
On 14th March, 2010 you became runner up in the 3,000 m. event at the World
Indoor Championships. What did this victory mean to you?
It was, without a doubt, the most important victory of my career. To cross the finishing
line realising that you are runner up is a unique sensation. It was a perfect way to
wind up the winter season. This season has definitely been the best season of my life.
What strategy did you use during the race?
I was patient and worked hard to remain calm. There was a lot of tension and I was
aware that a false move could mean renouncing the podium. So, I just waited to see
what the other runners would do. It worked out perfectly.
What are your forthcoming sporting objectives?
I am focussing all of my attention on the European Indoor Championships to be held
in Barcelona, on the 5,000 m. If I manage a time of less than 13 minutes, I would be
the first Spanish runner ever to achieve this.
What would be a typical day in the life of Sergio Sanchez?
I am up by 10.00 hours. I have breakfast and check out the news on the Internet.
I begin training at 11.30 hours, sometimes in the mountains, sometimes along the
riverbank in Leon. I have lunch at 14.30 hours and a small nap. At 18.00 hours I
continue training on the racing track or in the gym. Three times a week, at 20.15 hours,
I have a massage. When I do not have a massage, I have an early dinner and a short
session on the Messenger chatting with friends before going to bed at around midnight.
What advice would you give to young athletes?
I would advise them to do their best to improve daily, to centre their attention on
themselves and to concentrate on their times. I would also advise them to be modest
and enjoy their training, valuing victory and learning from defeat. There will always
be good and bad times. Situations can change at the drop of a hat.
Do you have any sporting anecdotes?
In 2001 I was in second position and had to retire from the Spanish Championships
just 30 metres from the finishing line. My nearest rival was 50 meters away. Only
two athletes were going to participate in the European Championships and the trainer
decided to leave me on the bench. I didn’t really think about it at the time. I ended
up watching the championships on the television.
What are you like when you are not competing? Do you have any hobbies?
The majority of my friends are training companions. We like to live a healthy life. Our
idea of a party is to get together in a quiet place and converse. We normally drink
soft drinks. My hobby is motorcycling. I have four bikes: a cross country bike, a
“rutera”, a road bike and a scooter. I always drive carefully, my legs are my livelihood.
As a frequent flyer with AIR NOSTRUM, what do you like best about our airline?
Yes. Well, you provide flights from Leon. For example, I took an AIR NOSTRUM flight
to Valencia where I broke the 3,000 m. European record. The staff is very friendly
and the service is great.

Durante estas fechas, una infinidad de fiestas, festivales y espectáculos llena el
calendario cultural y de ocio de la Región de Murcia

erminado el invierno, la cultura y el ocio se instalan en la Región de Murcia a través de
una oferta dinámica que, en vez de focalizarse en una única ciudad, se ramifica por sus
principales núcleos urbanos, convirtiendo cada sitio en un lugar sorprendente de obligada
referencia.
A pleno sol, y con las temperaturas más agradables del año, en 2010 el mapa murciano
se colma de paradas donde tradición y vanguardia se funden para ofrecer un nuevo
concepto de turismo.
Energía y optimismo caracterizan una propuesta que se renueva constantemente y que
ha conseguido convertir a esta tierra en un destino innovador, con uno de los espíritus más
creativos dentro del panorama nacional y europeo.
La ruta arranca en La Conservera. Se trata de una antigua fábrica ubicada en la localidad
de Ceutí que, reconvertida en galería de arte, hoy por hoy es considerada como una de las
encrucijadas más importantes de la actividad artística internacional. Quien tenga la posibilidad
de visitar esta “fábrica del arte” se encontrará con una suerte de museo dedicado a
jóvenes creadores cuyas obras se encuentran muy alejadas del actual “star-system”.
Las próximas exposiciones incluyen los trabajos de los artistas Lily Van Der Stokker, Lili
Dujourie, Elena del Rivero y Carolina Silva, todas ellas hasta el 27 de mayo de 2010.

Up and coming exhibitions include works by a wide variety of artists such as Lily

Al mismo tiempo, Murcia, la capital, acoge el Proyecto de Arte Contemporáneo, PAC
2010, una plataforma que genera, produce y exhibe las obras artísticas más recientes. La
exposición del año, Dominó Caníbal, puede verse en la Sala de Verónicas de Murcia, una
antigua iglesia conventual de estilo barroco que representa un marco de incomparable
belleza. Tras la exposición de Jimmie Durham será el turno de Cristina Lucas, quien asumirá
el protagonismo del ciclo trabajando sobre la obra de su antecesor.
El valor de estos dos espacios se incrementa sobre todo si tenemos en cuenta que en el
mes de octubre, Cartagena y Murcia acogerán la Bienal de Arte Contemporáneo Manifesta
8, que se instalará en los edificios más emblemáticos de ambas urbes. La bienal, que en
esta edición tendrá como temática las relaciones entre Europa y el norte de África, ha
elegido a la Región de Murcia como sede por constituir un claro exponente de zona
fronteriza contemporánea de valioso pasado histórico y estratégico.
Por otro lado, en el ecuador de la estación, entre el 30 de abril y el 1 de mayo, se pondrá
en marcha en el habitual Recinto Ferial La Fica de Murcia la III edición del Festival SOS
4.8, un festival de características excepcionales con cuarenta y ocho horas ininterrumpidas
de música, arte y reflexión, que este año reunirá a artistas de la talla de Franz Ferdinand,
Madness y Fatboy Slim, y a pensadores como Michele Boldrin, Juan Urrutia y David de
Ugarte; Lev Manovich, Remedios Zafra; George Yúdice; Paolo Fabbri y Jorge Lozano.
Intensidad y arte que se funden en un encuentro que ya se ha convertido en símbolo y seña
de identidad de la ciudad.
CARAVACA DE LA CRUZ
En estas mismas fechas, del 1 al 5 de mayo, tienen lugar en la localidad de Caravaca de
la Cruz las fiestas de La Santísima y Vera Cruz, donde se celebra la Carrera de los Caballos
del Vino; todo un espectáculo para los sentidos basado en la fuerza, el valor y la destreza
de los participantes. Decenas de caballos adornados con ricos bordados galopan a toda
prisa por las principales calles de la ciudad intentando ser los más rápidos en llegar hasta
la basílica templaria.
Además, este año Caravaca de la Cruz celebra su Año Jubilar, por lo que todo el que la
visite podrá empaparse del ambiente de la ciudad y de una programación cultural desarrollada
para la ocasión en la que se incluyen conciertos y exposiciones.
Una vez en Caravaca, no olvides parar en…
– El Museo Etnográfico Ángel Reinón. En su interior se extiende un mundo en
miniatura hecho a mano, lija y lima. En este lugar los tractores y los carros caben en la
palma de la mano, y palabras como alpargatero, herrador o picapedrero devuelven a los
oficios su significado tradicional.
– Museo de Música Étnica de Barranda, donde se guardan todos los sonidos del
mundo. Una colección con instrumentos musicales venidos de los cinco continentes
convierten a este rincón de Caravaca de la Cruz en uno de los sitios más originales para
visitar.

Meanwhile, in Murcia, the capital of the Region of Murcia, visitors will find the
“2010 Proyecto de Arte Contemporaneo” (Contemporary Art Project), a platform that
generates, produces and exhibits new works. Worth mentioning is the Domino
Canibal Exhibition on show at the Sala de Veronicas, an ancient Baroque style
convent church of incomparable beauty. Following the exhibition here by Jimmie
Durham, Cristina Lucas will continue working on the works of her predecessor.
Later on, in October, Cartagena and Murcia will be playing host to the “Bienal
de Arte Contemporaneo Manifesta 8” (Manifesta 8 Contemporary Art Biennial), to
be held in two of the Region of Murcia’s most emblematic buildings. The 2010
Manifesta 8, whose theme will be the relations between Europe and North Africa,
has chosen the Region of Murcia as its headquarters because of its position as an
exceptional contemporary art frontier and its rich strategic history.
We would also mention the III SOS 4.8 Festival to take place in the La Fica Trade
Fair Centre of Murcia between 30th April and 1st May, 2010. This magnificent
event offers 48 hours of uninterrupted music, art and reflection. It will, this year,
bring together artists as famous as Franz Ferdinand, Madness and Fatboy Slim
along with other personalities such as Michele Boldrin, Juan Urrutia and David de
Ugarte (Economy); Lev Manovich, and Remedios Zafra (Social Networks and New
Technologies); George Yudice (Music) and Paolo Fabbri and Jorge Lozano (Art).
CARAVACA DE LA CRUZ
Visitors will, from 1st to 5th May, be able to visit, in the mythical town of Caravaca
de la Cruz, the La Santisima and Vera Cruz Festival. Worth mentioning, amongst
other things, is the Wine Horse Race; an exhilarating spectacle based on the strength,
courage and skill of the participants. Dozens of horses wearing beautiful embroidered
coats gallop along the main streets in a race to see which one reaches the local
Templar Knight Basilica first.
Caravaca de la Cruz is, this year, celebrating its 2010 Jubilee Year. Visitors will
find here an exciting cultural programme designed specially for the occasion and
which includes, amongst other things, an excellent variety of concerts and exhibitions.
Whilst here, visitors should definitely not miss a visit
to the following museums:
– Angel Reinon Ethnographic Museum. This fascinating museum offers a world
of handmade miniatures that includes tractors and carts small enough to fit into the
palm of a hand, whilst words such as ‘alpargatero’ (hemp sandal maker), ‘herrador’
(blacksmith) and ‘picapedrero’ (stone-cutter) depict the Region of Murcia’s more
traditional handicrafts.
– Barranda Ethnic Music Museum. An excellent museum housing an impressive
collection of musical instruments on show from all over the world, turning it into
one of Caravaca de la Cruz’s most original tourist sights.

HOSPEDERÍA DE SAN JUAN DE LA PEÑA
Se encuentra en pleno Pirineo Aragonés, a unos 25 kilómetros de la ciudad de Jaca.
Un idílico lugar para el descanso y el retiro, entre tupidos bosques de hayas, pinos,
abetos, avellanos y acebos. Este establecimiento de veinticinco habitaciones ofrece al
visitante todas las comodidades de un hotel de lujo: parking subterráneo, salones para
banquetes y eventos, spa con piscina, sauna, baño turco y gimnasio. Integrados en el
mismo monumento el viajero encontrará dos interesantes centros de interpretación.
HOSPEDERÍA DEL REAL MONASTERIO DE RUEDA
A tan solo 70 kilómetros de Zaragoza, el Monasterio Cisterciense de Rueda sorprende
al visitante. Su torre campanario se alza grácil y majestuosa. La Hospedería ocupa el
palacio abacial y sus habitaciones combinan el espíritu cisterciense con la modernidad y

HOSPEDERÍA DE LA IGLESUELA DEL CID
Al nordeste de la ciudad de Teruel se encuentra esta hospedería, en el caserón dieciochesco
del noble Don Manuel Matutano Daudén.
En el interior una elegante escalera de cuatro tramos con celosías de madera y bellos
altorrelieves recibe al visitante. El espíritu romántico invade las habitaciones. Pinturas
murales, espejos, candelabros, tapices y grandes salones pueblan un espacio de relajamiento
infinito.
HOSPEDERÍA DE ILLUECA
Unos 82 kilómetros separan esta hospedería situada en Illueca de Zaragoza. Como si
pronosticase el poder y la influencia que iba a tener el personaje que entre sus paredes
nació, se alza imponente este castillo-fortaleza. En él nació el Papa Benedicto XIII más
conocido como el Papa Luna, en 1328. Don Pedro de Luna, fue nombrado Papa en el
cisma de Avignon, y se convirtió en uno de los personajes más importantes de la cultura y
política de su tiempo.
Bellas techumbres y yeserías mudéjares, majestuosas portadas renacentistas y escaleras
monumentales harán que el visitante viaje a una época pasada de esplendor.
MESÓN DE LA DOLORES
La Hospedería del Mesón de la Dolores se encuentra en la localidad zaragozana de
Calatayud, a 90 kilómetros de Zaragoza.
El edificio ha sido restaurado conservando los elementos arquitectónicos, mobiliario y
decoración tradicional. Vigas de madera, cerámicas decorativas, rejería y bellos pasamanos
en las escaleras impregnan el palacio del más puro estilo decimonónico aragonés.
Sus 34 habitaciones no descuidan, sin embargo, las comodidades actuales. Cuenta con
un amplio restaurante, salón privado y sala de catas.
HOSPEDERÍA DE RODA DE ISÁBENA
La Hospedería de Roda de Isábena se encuentra en el noreste de la provincia de Huesca.
La hospedería está situada junto a la catedral, construida sobre los muros de la antigua
abadía. Dispone de 10 habitaciones dobles, cafetería y salón social. Sin embargo, lo más
característico de este alojamiento es su restaurante, situado en el antiguo refectorio catedralicio,
donde el viajero se verá inmerso en este ambiente medieval acompañado de exquisiteces
gastronómicas. El viajero podrá disfrutar además de la bella panorámica que ofrece
la terraza de la hospedería.
HOSPEDERÍA DE LOARRE
Esta hospedería se encuentra a unos 30 kilómetros de la ciudad de Huesca, en un
edificio del siglo XVI, en la plaza mayor de la pequeña población de Loarre.
De ambiente acogedor y familiar, cuenta con 12 habitaciones, pero destaca, sin embargo,
por su restaurante, donde se combinan los platos clásicos aragoneses con otros de cocina

Los urólogos Ion Madina y Javier Azparren de POLICLÍNICA GIPUZKOA,
en San Sebastián, apostaron hace ya casi dos años por incorporar el robot quirúrgico
Da Vinci como la mejor solución en cirugía de cáncer de próstata. Tras ver
que en Estados Unidos ya se estaba consolidando la implantación de este robot
en los quirófanos, estos urólogos no dudaron en apostar por él. “A la vista de los
resultados y los comentarios de nuestros colegas norteamericanos, nos empeñamos
en tener uno en POLICLÍNICA, donde operamos cada año tantos casos
de cáncer de próstata. Somos obstinados y nos hemos formado a conciencia
para esta nueva técnica”, aseguran.
El cáncer de próstata, cuando se detecta en su fase temprana, es extirpado
mediante una intervención quirúrgica. Tradicionalmente este tipo de cirugía se ha
realizado tanto de forma abierta como por vía laparoscópica. Sin embargo, el nuevo
robot Da Vinci ofrece grandes ventajas para la cirugía prostática porque minimiza
los riesgos de la cirugía abierta y supera las ventajas de la laparoscopia.
EL PLUS DEL DA VINCI
Respecto a la cirugía abierta convencional, la incisión mediante Da Vinci para
la cirugía es mínima, por lo que tanto el postoperatorio y los riesgos de infecciones
como las molestias son mucho menores, al evitar las grandes cicatrices.
En cuanto a la cirugía laparoscópica, el robot aporta una gran ventaja, y es
que permite ver el campo que se está operando en tres dimensiones, al mismo
tiempo que los brazos del robot permiten una espectacular maniobrabilidad y
precisión en sus movimientos.
Las ventajas para el paciente se traducen en una operación menos dolorosa,
con menos pérdidas de sangre y menor riesgo de infección, que deja cicatrices
más pequeñas y permite una recuperación más rápida. Además, reduce notablemente
los efectos secundarios habituales en esta cirugía como pueden ser la
incontinencia urinaria o la impotencia sexual.
LA EXPERIENCIA DEL PACIENTE
Dos de los pacientes intervenidos por los doctores Madina y Azparren mediante
el robot quirúrgico Da Vinci coinciden en afirmar “lo rápido” que se han incorporado
a la vida cotidiana.
Uno de ellos explica que “la intervención fue fenomenal, no sentí nada”. A
este paciente, de 64 años y natural de San Sebastián, le detectaron un tumor y,
aunque reconoce que fue “duro” cuando se lo diagnosticaron, “todo el proceso
ha ido rapidísimo”. Se encuentra con fuerzas y una vitalidad sorprendente. “Pronto
voy a empezar a hacer deporte, a correr y jugar al tenis. Ésa es la ilusión que
tengo yo ahora”, comenta.
Otro paciente operado recientemente de cáncer de próstata mediante cirugía
robótica Da Vinci por los doctores Madina y Azparren en POLICLÍNICA
GIPUZKOA, asegura que “no he tenido pérdidas urinarias. La incontinencia se
logró de forma inmediata y el control es absoluto”.
Después de cuatro días de hospitalización, este malagueño, de 62 años, se
incorporó al trabajo en quince días, “sin molestias y llevando una vida completamente
normal”.
Este paciente no había oído hablar del robot quirúrgico Da Vinci y asegura
que lo suyo fue “una corazonada”. “Al principio lo veía inaccesible, pero un día
que me encontraba especialmente sensible, me metí en Internet para informarme
y buscar apoyo y descubrí la página de POLICLÍNICA GIPUZKOA. Me
puse enseguida en contacto con los doctores Madina y Azparren y al entablar

Situado en el extremo oriental de la provincia de Jaén, limitando con las de
Granada y Albacete, su extensión alcanza casi una quinta parte del total de la
provincia convirtiéndolo así en el espacio natural protegido de mayor extensión
de España.
E
l Parque Natural de las Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y las Villas, ofrece al visitante un
mundo lleno de sorpresas y satisfacciones continuas. Un paseo por estas sierras
andaluzas enmarcadas en la Cordillera Bética nos llevará a la contemplación de la naturaleza
en todo su apogeo, y la magia y encanto que en ellas se encierra, nos dejará la firme
voluntad de volver a disfrutar en estas serranías. Decir qué época del año encierra mayor
belleza es tarea muy difícil, pues el invierno prepara la tierra con sus abundantes precipitaciones
en forma de agua o nieve para el estallido de colores que brotan ufanos con
la llegada de la primavera; con ella llegan multitud de plantas llenas de flores, frutos
y olores, así como las crías de los animales y de las aves; con el verano hacen acto
de presencia multitud de fiestas populares que a lo largo del estiaje se desarrollan en los
23 municipios y más de 105 aldeas existentes en este Parque Natural. Con la llegada del
otoño, el paisaje se cubre de una amalgama de colores y de tonos ocres, amarillos y
pardos que anuncian el cambio estacional y con las primeras lluvias se inicia en la
segunda quincena de septiembre la berrea de los ciervos, y a primeros de octubre se inicia
la "ronca" de los gamos. En noviembre comienzan los celos del muflón y de la cabra
montés respectivamente... y de nuevo se pone en marcha la rueda de la vida.
Se diría que la naturaleza ha querido echar una mano al viajero que llega por primera
vez a este excepcional Parque Natural, en muchas ocasiones, procedente del adusto e
inmenso paisaje meseteño de La Mancha o de la franja litoral mediterránea, contemplará
extasiado un macizo de complicada orografía, donde el verdor de su manto vegetal se
interrumpe bruscamente en las zonas más elevadas por escarpados riscos de calizas, que
contrastan con los poderosos roquedales rojizos de las zonas más bajas, constituyendo
una perfecto hábitat para la variada fauna rupícola de este Parque Natural.
En medio de esta geografía, los cauces de arroyos y ríos se abren camino entre
peñascos, dando lugar a cascadas de incomparable belleza, como son las de Linarejos,
Salto de los Órganos y La Palomera, para posteriormente encajonarse y discurrir mansamente
en las gargantas de los desfiladeros, tales como la Cerrada de Utrero, Cerrada de
Elías, Cerrada de la Canaliega o la Cerrada del Pintor.

he Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas Nature Park will, without a doubt,
provide its visitors with all kinds of pleasant surprises. A stroll through this
beautiful nature park, surrounded by the Betica mountain range, offers visitors the
opportunity of seeing nature at its finest, full of natural charm and magic. To say
which time of the year is the best to visit this fine area is not easy. Visitors will,
during the winter months, find nature preparing, with abundant rain and snow fall, for
the explosion of colour that comes with the arrival of spring. Spring brings with it
a multitude of flowering plants and the offspring of numerous animal and bird
species. Meanwhile, the summer months offer, amongst other things, a wide variety
of local festivals taking place in over 105 villages housed in 23 municipalities. During
the autumn months, the Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y Las villas Nature Park becomes
an authentic mosaic of colours as the landscape gradually takes on beautiful ochre
tones. The autumn rainfalls begin in the second half of September at the same time
the deer begin their seasonal bellowing. In October, the “hoarse” bellowing of the
fallow deer can be heard far into the distance and in November, the mouflon and
mountain goat are considered officially in heat. The cycle of life begins once again.
Nature seems to offer those visiting the Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y Las villas
Nature Park for the first time a helping hand. Having travelled across the immense
La Mancha plain or along the Mediterranean coast, visitors will find themselves
taking great delight in the contemplation of this complicated massif with its
extraordinary green mantle and rugged limestone cliffs that contrast so beautifully
with the reddish rocky areas situated in the lower part of the area, an area considered
the perfect habitat for a wide variety of rupicolous fauna.
Numerous rivers and streams work their way through rocky outcrops, producing
water falls of incomparable beauty. We would mention, amongst others, the Linarejos,
Salto de los Organos and Palomera water falls. The water from these beautiful
cascades flows down into a variety of gullies and ravines that include the Cerrada
de Utrero, the Cerrada de Elías, the Cerrada de la Canaliega and the Cerrada del Pintor.

GASTRONOMÍA TÍPICA: Caza, legumbres, hortalizas, pesca fluvial... Entre sus
platos típicos podríamos nombrar “la gachamiga” migas de harina acompañadas de
torreznos, “el ajoharina o maimones” sencillo plato a base de harina, ajo, pimientos,
patatas, tomates maduros, pimentón, agua y sal. No podemos olvidarnos de sus excelentes
carnes como “la pierna o cabeza de cordero”, o “los tacos de lomo”. Y qué decir de
las especies de nuestros ríos de alta montaña puestas en la mesa... “trucha serrana”,
“trucha en salsa de almendras”. Entre sus postres cabría destacar el arroz dulce, los
enreos, la meloja. Todo bien regado con una buena “cuerva” o con vino de esparteña.
GASTRONOMY: The local cusine stands out, amongst other things, for its game,
legumes, vegetables and freshwater fish. Local specialities include “gachamiga”
made with flour and fried pork, “ajoharina” or “maimones”, a wholesome dish made
with flour, garlic, peppers, potatoes, ripe tomatoes, paprika, water and salt. Its
excellent roast meat dishes include “pierna” or “cabeza de cordero” (roast lamb)
and “tacos de lomo”. Fresh fish dishes include trout a la “serrana” and trout with
almond sauce. Delicious desserts such as rice pudding, “enreos” and “meloja” can
be found along with the excellent local “cuerva” and “esparteña” wines.

ciervos por la posesión de las hembras), escuchar y ver la "ronca" del gamo, contemplar
la ágil cabra montesa trepar por las agrestes y escarpadas riscas de calizas u observar el
majestuoso vuelo del águila real que sobrevuela los grandes cortados que abundan en
estas sierras e incluso, dentro de muy poco, volveremos a ver volar sobre las grandes
masas calcáreas de este Parque Natural a una de la aves más bellas de este planeta, el
Quebrantahuesos, especie recientemente reintroducida y aún en fase de adaptación.
The Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas Nature Park also offers a variety of
recreation. This important national hunting reserve not only houses a large number
of hunting species that includes the deer, the fallow deer, the mouflon, the boar and
the mountain goat, but also shooting species such as the red partridge, the thrush,
the hare and the mountain rabbit amongst others. Fishing enthusiasts will find
a variety of fish species here such as the common trout, the rainbow trout, the
European chub, the barbel and the “boga”. One of the Nature Park’s most popular
attractions is, however, the possibility of being able to observe and film, from a
specially constructed observation post, the different animal and bird species. Visitors
will be able, amongst other things, to watch stags fighting for a hind, listen to the
“ronca” (hoarse bellow) of the fallow deer, contemplate the agile mountain goats as
they roam the limestone crags and observe the majestic flight of the golden eagle.
The famous Lammergeier or bearded vulture, recently reintroduced to the area and,
presently, in the process of adapting to its new home, can also be spotted here.

AIR NOSTRUM, COMPROMETIDA CON EL MEDIO AMBIENTE
AIR NOSTRUM ha celebrado la séptima jornada de reforestación, en la que
medio centenar de empleados de la compañía trasplantaron 500 ejemplares de
encinas, enebros y lentiscos. El lugar elegido para esta edición fue el Monte
Mayor de la Sierra Calderona –ubicado en la localidad castellonense de
Segorbe–, un terreno que quedó dañado tras el incendio que se produjo en la
zona el verano de 2009.
Con los árboles plantados por AIR NOSTRUM este año se compensaría a lo
largo de todo su ciclo de vida 162 toneladas de CO 2 . De esta forma, la jornada
contribuye a la “Campaña de los Mil Millones de Árboles”, promovida por
Naciones Unidas, y supone un significativo aporte en el Año Mundial de la
Diversidad Biológica que celebra la ONU en 2010.
Esta actividad constituye la fase final del “Proyecto Papel”, que se desarrolla
cada año para la mejora de la gestión del papel en la compañía. El objetivo principal
consiste en la aplicación del principio de las 3R (Reducir, Reutilizar y
Reciclar), al que se le suma otra R de Recuperación. Es en esta etapa donde se
realiza la plantación del número de árboles consumidos por los productos de
papel utilizados, con el objetivo de “quedarnos en paz con la naturaleza” y que
“nuestro balance al final del año” sea igual a cero. AIR NOSTRUM permite que
voluntarios de todos los departamentos acudan a esta jornada en horario laboral.
ASTURIAS: GASTRONÓMICA Y FESTIVA
La gastronomía asturiana tiene fama de buena y generosa, por ello, no
es de extrañar que esta primavera Asturias invite a los amantes del vino,
los quesos, la sidra, los mariscos, la carne
y los pescados, así como a todos aquellos
viajeros que quieren descubrir la auténtica
gastronomía, a hacer las maletas. La oferta
es tan variada que nos permite combinar
la cocina tradicional con la de vanguardia,
los productos del mar con los de la huerta,
las recetas ligeras con las contundentes. La
gastronomía está tan integrada en la cultura

AIR NOSTRUM, COMMITTED TO THE ENVIRONMENT
AIR NOSTRUM recently celebrated its seventh annual reforesting
event. Fifty members of the Company transplanted 500 Holm oak,
juniper and mastic trees. The place chosen on this occasion was the
Monte Mayor on the Sierra Calderona situated in Segorbe, (Castellon),
an area badly damaged by a forest fire during the summer of 2009.
The trees planted this year by AIR NOSTRUM will compensate during
their lifetime for a total 162 tons of CO 2 . The replanting of these trees
also contributes to the Billion Tree Campaign organised by the UN
and is a significant contribution to this year’s International Year of
Biodiversity.
This reforesting event constitutes the final phase of AIR NOSTRUM’s
annual “Paper Project” designed to improve the Company’s paper
management. The main objective of this project is the application of the
3R principle (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle), along with a further R for
Recovery. This phase involves replanting the number of trees consumed
to produce the paper used by the Company over a one year period. The
object is to “be at peace with nature” and “maintain an end-of-year
balance of zero”. The Company permits any of its staff members to
volunteer for this event carried out on a working day.
ASTURIAS: GASTRONOMIC AND FESTIVE
The gastronomy of Asturias is, amongst other things, famous for its
quality and quantity. As such, it should come as no surprise to learn that
this spring Asturias invites all wine, cheese,
cider, seafood, meat and fish lovers, as well
