ESCUCHA Y HABLA<br />

This course develops intermediate conversation,<br />

pronunciation, idiomatic and aural comprehension skills.<br />

It is intended for non-native speakers of English who can<br />

make themselves understood but are not yet proficient in<br />

self-expression. Conversational and idiomatic skills focus<br />

on fluent and appropriate use of oral communication skills<br />

in a variety of social, business and/or academic situations.<br />

Pronunciation focuses on clearer articulation of English<br />

vowels and consonants and on increased control of the<br />

stress, intonation and rhythm of English. Listening<br />

comprehension stresses understanding verbal instructions<br />

and questions on campus and in the workplace. Students<br />

continue to learn appropriate verbal and non-verbal<br />

behavior as well as conversation management techniques<br />

to exchange ideas in small and large group communication.<br />
