ABSTRACT
This work characterizes the distinctive features that influence in the geological setting of amazonite
as well as in the relationship between their deposits and specific genetic types of the granitoide
formations. The principal chapters deal with the geological, mineralogical and geochemical conditions
of formation, various properties, typomorphic features, color nature, and genesis of this mineralogical
variety of the potassium feldspars species. One chapter provides a brief synopsis to the history and to
a few of the recent perspectives of amazonite employment. This article makes one’s way to mineralogists,
geochemists, gemologists, and geologists which are working in the prospect and evaluation of mineral
deposits; and also to the public at large (for example, to collectors of minerals and gemstones) that
have the interest in this subject.
