CONCLUSIONS FROM THE 43RD EDITION OF THE VERONA STONE SHOW
MARMOMACC REAFFIRMS
ITS INTERNATIONAL STANDING
The International Exhibition of Stone Design and Technology
held in Verona (Italy) demonstrated that its ability to draw
participants from the international marble and natural stone
market remains undiminished. Overall, 44% of those at the
latest edition of the annual show travelled to Italy from 120
different countries worldwide. These figures underline that the
Italian show continues to be considered a vital and productive
annual event for both stone sector companies and tooling
and machinery manufacturers serving this market.

The latest edition of Marmomacc has
confirmed the event’s position as the
world’s leading marble and natural stone
show. Reflecting this, the 43rd edition of
the Italian exhibition, organised by Veronafire,
placed particular emphasis on participation
and contribution by a host of
world-class exhibitors and renowned designers.
According to the Chief Executive of Veronafire,
Luigi Castelletti, despite the crisis
affecting the global market, the show still
exceeded its organisers’ expectations.
Over 63,000 trade professionals visited
the last edition, of which number 43%
were international executives (almost 2% more than in 2007). As regards exhibitors, the
2008 event was attended by over 1,500 companies from 120 different countries. The
show also welcomed numerous foreign delegations and a multitude of architects and
designers from across the world. These figures underline that the Italian trade fair has
maintained its standing among the sector’s international events.
Building on over four decades’ experience, Marmomacc has established itself as one
of the most comprehensive exhibitions in the sector. Its offering covers natural stone,
marble and granite; quarry machinery, equipment and technology; maintenance and restoration;
funerary art design and decoration; and other stone-related materials, such as
adhesives and chemicals.
