The importance of Xiamen’s stone sector
in China and the world is indisputable.
Through improvements in production, the
city of Xiamen (located in the Fujian province)
has developed its stone export industry
with mounting success, counting for
70% of national exports. Its main destinations
are Japan, Korea, Germany, Belgium
and the United States. Among them, the
German, Belgian and American markets
have grown rapidly, being the main export
destination of uncut granite and granite
manufactured products.
More than 1,000 commercial companies
and 6,000 processing manufacturers
are located in Xiamen’s surrounding area.
The region’s commercial activity is made
up of an integrated stone industry combined
with a supply chain.
China is an outstanding country in the
stone industry. The annual consumption of
construction stones is 120 million m², a
number that registers as 14% of world
consumption. The reasons for this position

la Feria Internacional de la Piedra de Xiamen.
