by the previous call for projects were signed with
three Autonomous Regions: Castilla y Leon, Murcia
Competence Centres
The following Scientific and Technological
Competence Centres continued their activities
during 2009 through a coordination effort
between INIA and the CCAA:
CECOC-PTC
(Scientific and Technological Competence Centre in
Processed Meat Products)
This was the first Competence Centre created by
decision of the Coordination Commission. It is located
at Monells (Girona) in the Autonomous Region
of Catalonia. The creation of this centre included a
call for scientific and technological groups that
resulted in the incorporation of 11 public and 3 private
sector groups and a technology centre. The
centre is staffed by more than 180 highly qualified
researchers. A technological platform for the meat
sector is being created, to which INIA contributes
