3. Control microestructural y dependencia
con la temperatura de parámetros
complejos piezoeléctricos, elásticos y
dieléctricos en piezocerámicas de interés
industrial.
3. Control of the microstructure and temperature
dependence of complex piezoelectric,
elastic and dielectric parameters
of piezoceramics of industrial interest
An automatic iterative procedure has been used to characterize
the planar resonance mode as a function of
the temperature of piezoceramics of industrial interest.
Ceramics with composition (SrBi 2
Nb 2
O 9
) 0.35
(Bi 3
TiNbO 9
) 0.65
(Aurivillius type structure with n = 2), processed by
recrystallization after hot-pressing of mechanically activated
precursors were studied [1]. The appearance of
additional resonances at high temperatures [2] is related
to the anomalies in the electric characteristics of
the ceramics (dielectric permittivity and losses and dc
conductivity). These features are most probably associated
with the presence of defects. Environmentally
friendly ceramics of Na 1-x Li x NbO 3 were characterized
and also studied up to 300ºC[3]. The role of microstructure
is taken into consideration in the understanding
of the properties of these piezoceramics. The
range of temperature in which these ceramics can be
used as high-temperature piezoelectrics is established.
4. Cristalización asistida con UV de láminas
delgadas ferroeléctricas a bajas temperaturas
4. UV assisted crystallisation of ferroelectric
thin films at low temperatures
(compatible with silicon integrated circuit
technology)
During the last years ferroelectric materials are considered
an alternative to SiO 2 in the micro-electronic
industry. These materials have a wide range of properties
useful in devices (non-volatile memories, microelectromechanical
systems, etc). These applications
require the integration of the ferroelectric with the silicon
substrate at processing temperatures not higher
than 773 K. Higher temperatures are detrimental for
the silicon semiconductor and for the final device.
However, the ferroelectric material has poor crystallinity
and second phases are developed under these preparation
conditions, leading to materials without ferroelectric
response. Photo-sensitive sols have been
synthesised by sol-gel. These sols were deposited onto
Si and irradiated with UV-light with 222 nm and an irradiation
density of 22 J/cm 2 . This irradiation produces
the dissociation of organics and the formation of M-O-
M bonds at low temperatures. Crystalline films onto Si
with an appropriate ferroelectric response have been
prepared by this way at 450ºC.
