12. Espectroscopía Brillouin y caracterización
acústica de materiales base de
dispositivos SAW
muestran.
12. Brillouin spectroscopy and acoustic
characterization of base materials for
SAW devices
In a piezoelectric material the electric field stimulates
acoustic waves, surface acoustic waves among them
(SAWs). High frequency filters are based on these ones
and can be applied, for instance, in the field of cellular
phones and gas detectors. High resolution Brillouin
spectroscopy (HRBS) is a non destructive and non contacting
method allowing the characterization of elastic,
mechanical and optical properties of this kind of materials,
including those properties related to the surface
acoustic waves. Thin film preparation methods are of
crucial importance in the final acoustic properties as
HRBS results show.
13. Estudio de las propiedades estructurales
de laminas delgadas de Ag sobre
As/Si(111)
pasivadas As/Si(111)-(1x1).
13. Structural properties of metallic films
of Ag on As/Si(111)1x1
Ag/Si systems have aroused an special attention for a
long time, due to their technological applications in
optoelectronics. Our group has studied the electronic
properties of the valence band and the Fermi surface by
angle- resolved photoelectron spectroscopy of Ag(111)
films. The films were deposited onto silicon passivated
surface As/Si(111)-(1x1). After a detailed analysis, one
can concluded that Ag films grown following a mechanism
Volmer-Weber, from the first stage of formation of
the interface. All the films of silver examined present a
good epitaxial growth, where there coexist two
monocrystalline fcc (111) domains, turned 60 degrees
one respect to the other one. A more detailed quantitative
analysis shows that Ag’s growth on the presence of
As promotes one of the domains.
