In the period of the Japanese scientific direction (Taketani and Miyasima) the research
and collaborations were better stablished in IFT.
It is from this period the introduction of a bulletim published in IFT from 1958 to 1967,
named Boletim de Física Teórica e Experimental - Informações entre
Físicos. This bulletim was inspired by Taketani, as informed by Paulo Leal
Ferreira, the General Editor of the Bulletim.
The bulletim, circulating among Brazilian scientists in a period when the communications
between continents were very limited, became an important element to people working in
our institutions, to obtain information on research being made in other countries (usually
from Brazilians visiting other laboratories and institutions).
This bulletim, edited by Paulo Leal Ferreira, was followed by the Brazilian
Journal of Physics, which started with the name Revista Brasileira de Física. It was
edited in IFT from 1971 to 1978 by Jorge Leal Ferreira (30/03/1928-26/02/1995).
Jorge Leal Ferreira was the President of Fundação IFT from 1973 till 1985.
