Murcia, proveedor
indispensable para
el mercado de
frutas y hortalizas
La Región de Murcia es
hoy una de las principales
zonas productoras y
comercializadoras de España
en frutas y hortalizas, que
abastece durante todo el año
a los consumidores de toda
Europa. Las empresas que
impulsan la agricultura que se
desarrolla en este entorno del
Mediterráneo apuestan por la
innovación, la responsabilidad
social empresarial y la promoción
de una alimentación
saludable.
Aquí se concentra gran parte
de la producción hortofrutícola
española y, como resultado,
dos millones de toneladas
de frutas y hortalizas son exportadas
cada año a cerca de
medio centenar de países de
todo el mundo.
El carácter emprendedor de
nuestros agricultores y de las
empresas agrarias que con-
figuran nuestro sector hace
que sigamos siendo agentes
principales en la generación de
empleo, riqueza y oportunidades
dentro de la economía de
nuestros pueblos y regiones.
Nuestro espíritu de servicio al
cliente y la calidad demostrada
en nuestras producciones
nos han llevado a ser los principales
proveedores de cadenas
de distribución, mayoristas
y clientes internacionales.
La Región de Murcia es punto
indispensable para proveerse
de las mejores frutas y hortalizas
que se puedan cultivar.
La Huerta de Europa tiene tras
de si a las mejores empresas
hortofrutícolas, de las que son
buen ejemplo las que muestra
este Block Región de Murcia.
Murcia, essential
supplier for
the fruit and
vegetable market
Nowadays, the
Region of Murcia
is one of the main
producing and marketing
areas in Spain in fruits and
vegetables, which supplies
throughout the year to
consumers across Europe.
The companies that drive
the agriculture developed
in the Mediterranean area
are committed to innovation,
the corporate social
responsibility and the promotion
of a healthy diet.
Here there is concentrated
much of the spanish fruit
and vegetable production,
as a result, two millions of
tons of fruits and vegetables
are exported each
year to nearly fifty countries
all over the world.
We are main agents for
employment generation,
wealth and opportunities
within the economy of our
population and regions
due to the entrepreneurial
nature of our farmers and
agricultural enterprises of
our sector.
Our customer service
spirit and proven quality in
our productions have led
us to be the main suppliers
of distribution chains,
wholesalers and international
customers.
The Region of Murcia is
an indispensable place to
obtain the best fruits and
vegetables. The ‘Huerta de
de Agromark. Esta firma
se encuentra en un periodo de
diversificación tanto en producción
como en cartera de
clientes, desde que la familia
Domenech adquiriera la empresa
a la compañía británica
Produce World. Agromark es
la tercera comercializadora
en importancia de brócoli en
España con una producción
estimada de más de 19.000 toneladas
y 5.000 toneladas de
coliflor.
La empresa cuenta con una
amplia gama de brócolis, entre
los que destaca 115 hectáreas
de brócoli ecológico, 75
hectáreas de la especialidad
de brócoli dulce Bellaverde y
120 hectáreas de minibrócolis
o especialidades como hinojo
-300 toneladas-, romanesco
-3,4 millones de piezas-.
La diversificación de Agromark
llega también al segmento
de la fruta donde en los
meses de verano contempla
producciones de melón Honeydew
y Piel de Sapo y fruta de
hueso como melocotón, nectarina
Destinos. Agromark siempre
ha estado muy ligada al mercado
segmento ‘premium’ de producto.
“Nuestras instalaciones
han estado siempre condicionadas
para servir a las cadenas
empresa.
The brassicas -broccoli and
categories of Agromark. This
firm is in a period of diversification
both production
and client portfolio, from the
family Domenech acquired
the company to the British
company Produce World.
Agromark is the third trading
company more important in
broccoli in Spain with an estimated
production of more
than 19,000 tons and 5,000
tons of cauliflower.
The company has a wide range
of broccoli, where there is 115
hectares of organic broccoli,
75 hectares of the speciality
sweet broccoli Bellaverde and
120 hectares of minibroccoli
But the company is increasing
its products portfolio outside
of the brassicas such as Pepper,
which has 3,200 tons,
pointed cabbage -2.400 tons-,
celery -2.200 tons- or specialties
like fennel -300 tons-,
Romanescu -210 tons - or kale
The diversification of Agromark
also reachs to the fruit
where in the summer season
includes productions of Honeydew
melon and Piel de sapo
and stone fruit such as peach,
nectarine or flat peach.
Agromark has always been
close to the British market, but
in the new phase has begun
programs with German chains,
Dutch, Swiss and nordic in a
segment ‘finest’ product.
la empresa Campo de Lorca.
Además de sus más de 30.000
toneladas potenciales de oferta,
la empresa ha diseñado
una serie de unidades de venta
adaptados a las necesidades
específicas de cada cliente
y mercado. De esta manera,
“los clientes más exigentes
encuentran en nuestros productos
una solución real a sus
demandas”, señala Juan Marín
Entre las soluciones diseñadas
con nuevos formatos
que garantizan “un plus de
la empresa.
La empresa desarrolla el brócoli
durante los 12 meses
gracias a las explotaciones
que contempla en diferentes
puntos del sureste español a
diferentes alturas. La empresa
desarrolla su trabajo en tres
centros de los que uno está diseñado
para la confección del
para el resto de productos.
Mercados. Campo de Lorca
tiene abiertos diferentes programas
de los mercados
tradicionales –Reino Unido,
ha empezado a ampliar
Estos mercados requieren de
has designed sales units for
Among the solutions designed
“a plus of life of the product
The company develops the
broccoli during 12 months,
thanks to the farms that has in
different places of the spanish
its work in three places.
One of these is for the broccoli
for the rest of the products.
Markets. Campo de Lorca has
different programs with supermarket
also expanded its area of influence
Cuatro productos constituyen
el grueso de producción de la
firma Mercagrisa, destacando
la línea de pimiento, que
supone el 60 por ciento de
su oferta. Este producto concentra
todos los esfuerzos de
la empresa durante la campaña
de primavera-verano y es
“donde nos hemos especializado
y en donde conseguimos
llamar la atención de la mayor
parte de nuestros clientes”,
señala Mariano Zapata, presidente
de Mercagrisa.
El lamuyo es la categoría de
referencia para Mercagrisa al
suponer el 75 por ciento de su
oferta, aunque es el segmento
California el que va incrementando
su posición en la empresa.
“Posiblemente en 2013 el
California suponga el 30 por
ciento del pimiento”, declara
Zapata.
Clientes. La posición del pimiento
California en Mercagrisa
ha valido para que
entren otro perfil de clientes
más ligados al comercio internacional.
El fuerte de la empresa
es el mercado español y,
concretamente, mayoristas de
Mercamadrid y Mercabarna,
“pero el California nos abre
las puertas a los exportadores
y plataformas de las cadenas
La firma acapara unas 35.000
toneladas, de las que el 20%
comercializa directamente
desde su departamento comercial
al mercado español,
italiano y portugués. “La empresa
Zapata. Mercagrisa cuenta
Four products are the major
part of production of the firm
Mercagrisa, highlighting the
pepper, which represents a
60 percent of its supply. This
product concentrates all the
efforts of the company during
the spring-summer campaign
and is “where we have specialized
and where we got the
attention of most of our customers,”
says Mariano Zapata,
president of Mercagrisa.
The lamuyo is the reference
category for Mercagrisa because
it is the 75 percent of its
offer, although the California
is increasing its position in the
company. “Possibly the California
assume the 30 percent
of the pepper in 2013”, declares
Zapata.
Customers. The position of the
California pepper in Mercagrisa
is valid to enter another
profile of customers more
linked to international trade.
The strong of the company is
the Spanish market and, specifically,
wholesalers of Mercamadrid
and Mercabarna,
“but the California opens the
doors to exporters and platforms
of European chains”,
says Zapata.
The company has 35,000 tons,
of which a 20 percent is sold
directly from the commercial
department of the company
to the Spanish market, Italian
and Portuguese. “The company
is taking root in Portugal
increasingly”, affirms Zapata.
Mercagrisa has 200 producers-suppliers
has a OPFH with 55 partnerssuppliers.
Esta firma nació con el objetivo
de abordar operaciones
internacionales directamente
con la central de compras
de las cadenas en destino y
es el grupo de exportación
de mayor crecimiento en la
actualidad. La firma alcanzó
en 2012 las 27.000 toneladas
comercializadas a destinos
complejos como los mercados
nórdicos, Lituania o Emiratos
Arabes, aunque también está
trabajando con cadenas francesas.
“El mercado nórdico es el destino
de referencia para nuestra
firma. Hemos conseguido
fidelizar a cadenas de Suecia
y Finlandia”, destaca Thomas
Andersson, director comercial
de Unexport.
Estrategia. Los mercados nórdicos
suponen el 35 por ciento
de sus exportaciones, seguido
de los mercados del Este de Europa
que se sitúan en el 25 por
apunta Andersson, como
clave del desarrollo futuro de
la empresa.
Además de la amplia cartera
la comercializadora también
dispone de una gama de producto
This firm was born with the
objective to achieve international
group of higher growth at present.
The company marketed
27,000 tons in 2012 to complex
destinations such as the
Nordic markets, Lithuania or
working with french chains.
“The Nordic market is the
reference destination for our
firm. We have achieved loyalty
of some chains of Sweden and
Finland,” emphasizes Thomas
Andersson, marketing manager
of Unexport.
Strategy. The Nordic markets
are a 35 percent of its exports,
followed by the markets of
Eastern Europe that have the
company also has a range
of organic product formed by
broccoli, pointed cabbage and
que tiene en el Reino Unido
La empresa cuenta con una
Esta experiencia
en el mercado británico la está
extrapolando a los mercados
campaña pasada en Suecia y
Noruega.
La firma contempla oferta de
fincas que posee en diferentes
puntos de la Región de Murcia,
“lo que nos permite superar
has begun to work from the
last campaign in Sweden and
Norway.
The company has broccoli
during the 12 months with
“what enables us to overcome
the thermal breaks and the
high temperatures of the summer,”
says Juan Mula, director
la estrategia pura de
de servir más a un ‘target’
de clientela que mira al mercado
internacional y no contempla
tanto el mercado interno.
La mayoría de los clientes de
Agrodolores El Mirador son
empresas murcianas con una
estrategia internacional.
La clave de esta realidad radica
en la cartera de productos.
Además de contar con calabacín,
brócoli o alcachofa, la
empresa dispone de 29.000
toneladas de pimiento, de las
que el 50 por ciento son variedades
California. “No es habitual
que una subasta tenga
tanto peso en California, pero
nuestros proveedores siempre
se han distinguido culturalmente
por trabajar variedades
California”, señala Oscar Rosique,
ejecutivo de Agrodolores
El Mirador.
Futuro. Aunque Agrodolores
El Mirador contempla una
línea de trabajo tradicional
de subasta, la empresa tiene
como objetivo dar los primeros
pasos en la constitución de
una subasta normalizada en
la línea de pimiento. Desde la
presente campaña va a iniciar
las primeras acciones para que
los proveedores vayan adaptándose
al nuevo modelo.
“Entendemos que con esta estrategia
le podemos facilitar la
vida al cliente y el cliente sepa
lo que se lleva en cada operación”,
señala Rosique.
La empresa no cambiará su
estrategia sobre el servicio a
los clientes y seguirá sin ofrecer
el servicio de confección y
manipulación. “Entendemos
que sí hacemos esto, nuestros
clientes podrían ver una competencia
encubierta”, añade
Rosique.
Agrodolores El Mirador has a
strategy of auction with the
differentiating value of serving
more a ‘target’ of customer
that directs to the international
market and it is not directed
so much at the domestic market.
The majority of customers
of Agrodolores El Mirador are
companies from Murcia with
an international strategy.
The key of this reality is in
the product portfolio. In addition
to courgette, broccoli
or artichoke, the company
has 29,000 tons of pepper, of
which a 50 percent are California
varieties. “It is not usual
for a auction to have so much
significance in California,
but our suppliers have always
been culturally distinguished
by work California varieties,”
says Óscar Rosique, executive
of Agrodolores El Mirador.
Future. Although Agrodolores
El Mirador provides a line of
traditional work of auction,
the company has as objective
to give the first step making a
auction in pepper. From this
campaign it is going to start
the first actions for which the
suppliers are adapted to the
new model. “We understand
that with this strategy we can
facilitate the customer’s life
and the customer knows what
is taken in each deal”, says Rosique.
The company will not change
its strategy on the service to
customers and will continue
without offering the service of
manifacturing and manipulation.
“We understand that
if we do this, our customers
could see a covert competition,”
adds Rosique.
Desde la firma prevén
Gs España busca en lechuga
un cliente más tradicional. Por
en su marca Pascual Prestige
un valor añadido de gran calidad
resultado de la apuesta del
Grupo por la innovación.
El negocio internacional es
clave en el desarrollo de la
firma. No en vano, el 80 por
en el territorio europeo:
Alemania, Reino Unido, Francia,
Bélgica. También, Austria,
Suiza, Luxemburgo y los Nórdicos,
mientras que el 20 por
Para esta campaña, la firma
The lettuce is the reference
product of G’s España. In fact,
it is drink approximately a 50
percent of the trade volume,
where Iceberg lettuce represents
an average of 100 millions
of pieces marketed per
year, so it shows stable figures
in production.
It is followed by Little Gem
(45 millions of pieces); and
romaine lettuce (15 millions
of pieces). The firm is thought
to grow between a 7-8 percent
in all types of lettuce for this
next campaign.
G’s España is looking for a
more traditional customer in
lettuce. For this reason, 90
percent of the production goes
for fresh consumption and
only a 10 percent for fresh-cut.
The celery amounts to nearly
50 millions of units. The company
continues to be the largest
European producer of this
leaf crop, which is sent to UK
and, finally, chives with nine
millions of units.
After these leaf products, the
citrus reach 22,000 tons distributed
among lemon and
grapefruit; 15,000 tons of tomato
and minileaf with 4,000
Pascual Marketing, has
in the brand Pascual Prestige
an added value of high quality
as a result of a commitment to
innovation.
The international business is
the key for development of
the company. The 80 percent
of the lettuce is distributed
in Europe: Germany, United
Kingdom, France, Belgium.
Also, Austria, Switzerland,
Luxembourg and Nordic
countries, whereas the spanish
market has the remaining
20 percent. For this campaign,
the company will continue to
enhance the key products: leaf
LA HISTÓRICA
FIRMA MURCIANA
HA INICIADO UNA
FASE DE DIVERSI-
FICACIÓN Y ADE-
MÁS DE TOMATE
CANARIO Y LE-
CHUGA ICEBERG,
SE INTRODUCE EN
TOMATE PERA Y
RAMA; Y LECHUGA
ROMANA Y TRO-
CADERO.
Agrasa es una de las firmas
históricas de la horticultura
de Murcia. Las referencias de
tomate y lechuga son las más
importantes, pero la empresa
ha iniciado una fase de diversificación
dentro de estas dos
categorías. La empresa se había
centrado en tomate canario
y lechuga iceberg y desde
hace dos ejercicios ha iniciado
un viaje hacia tomate pera y
rama; y hacia lechuga romana
y trocadero en producto de
hoja.
“Estamos obligado a desarrollar
nuevas líneas de producto
y salir de los cultivos tradicionales”,
señala Francisco Morales,
gerente de Agrasa.
Aunque las nuevas líneas de
tomate –pera y rama- aún
sólo representan menos del
15 por ciento de la superficie
de tomate, “nuestra voluntad
es ampliar la superficie en los
próximos años”, apunta Morales.
Actualmente, Agrasa cuenta
con una oferta de 20.000 toneladas
de tomate, que mantiene
en los últimos años. Lo mismo
ocurre con los productos de
hoja, donde la oferta se sitúa
cerca de las 20.000 toneladas.
La empresa también se ha introducido
en la producción de
alcachofa y brócoli, aunque
con una estrategia pasiva de
ser proveedor de empresas de
Murcia especializadas en estos
dos cultivos.
Destinos. La empresa ha desarrollado
un esquema de
trabajo que le permite abastecer
a clientes como discount
alemanes y a su vez tener en
las exigentes cadenas suecas,
danesas y nórdicas un 25 por
ciento de su cota de comercio
internacional.
La firma está desarrollando
otros mercados alternativos en
el Este de Europa. De hecho,
Polonia ya supone el 20 por
ciento de las exportaciones
de tomate de Agrasa. Además
de Polonia, la empresa ha iniciado
sus primeras relaciones
de mercado con la República
Checa y Rusia, y mantiene sus
operaciones con Holanda.
Antonio Muñoz,
commercial manager.
THE HISTORIC
COMPANY FROM
MURCIA HAS INITI-
AND IN ADDITION
TO CANARY
TUCE, THE FIRM
IS INTRODUCED
IN PEAR TOMATO
AND BRANCH
TOMATO; AND RO-
MAINE LETTUCE
AND TROCADERO.
Jose Miguel García, chairman Agrasa.
Agrasa is one of the historic
firms of the horticulture of
Murcia. Tomato and lettuce
are the most important references,
but the company has initiated
a diversification within
these two categories. The company
focused on canary tomato
and iceberg lettuce and
began with pear tomato and
branch tomato two years ago;
and toward romaine lettuce
and Trocadero in leaf product.
“We are forced to develop new
product lines and way out of
the traditional crops”, says
Francisco Morales, Agrasa’s
manager.
Although the new lines of tomato
-pear and branch- still
represent only less than 15
percent of the surface of tomato,
“our desire is to expand the
surface in coming years”, says
Morales.
Currently, Agrasa has 20,000
tons of tomato, which keeps
in the last few years. The same
situation for leaf products,
where the supply is located
close to 20,000 tons.
The company has also been
introduced the production of
artichokes and broccoli, although
with a passive strategy
being a supplier to companies
from Murcia specialized in
these two crops.
Destinations. The company
has developed a pattern of
work to supply both customers
and germans discount
and has a 25 percent of international
trading share in
Swedish, Danish and Nordic
chains.
The company is developing
other alternative markets in
Eastern Europe. In fact, Poland
accounts for 20 percent
of exports of tomato of Agrasa.
In addition to Poland, the
company has started its first
market relations with Czech
Republic and Russia, and
maintains its operations with
the Netherlands.
El melón piel de sapo aporta
el valor diferenciador de Subasur
comercializado bajo la
marca ‘Mi Viejo’, considerada
por Francisco García, director
de la firma, como “un estándar
alto de calidad a precio
competitivo”.
citada marca.
Subasta programada. Subasur
es una subasta, que ha apostado
por una estrategia programada
para “poder disponer de
oferta en los meses complicados
de campaña y responder a
los mercados cuando la oferta
escasea”, asegura García.
Esta estrategia “nos permite
estar en el mercado en los
meses complicados y reducir
nuestro estocaje en los periodos
de sobreoferta”, adelanta
García. La empresa cuenta con
75 proveedores-productores,
que además de melón, introducen
pimiento lamuyo para
la campaña de primavera; y
calabacín, brócoli y alcachofa
para los meses de invierno.
El ‘target’ de clientela de Subasur
actualmente son los mayoristas
de mercado y las pequeñas
cadenas de supermercados
y cadenas de fruterías, a los
que sirve con asiduidad. El siguiente
paso de Subasur pasa
por la creación de la subasta
normalizada. España es el
mercado de referencia.
Francisco García Herrero, manager Subasur.
The piel de sapo melon brings
the differentiating value of
Subasur marketed under the
brand ‘Mi Viejo’, considered
by Francisco García, director
of the company as “a high
standard of quality at competitive
price”. The company has
7,000 tons of piel de sapo melon,
of which the 80 percent is
marketed under the brand ‘Mi
Viejo’.
In addition to ‘Mi Viejo’, the
company also has ‘Mi Viejo
Solo Sabor’, ‘for the gourmet
segment and only during two
months of campaign. This
melon reaches 15 degrees Brix
of sugar and is made on demand,”
says García. The brand
‘Mi Viejo’ also is used for vegetables,
although is worked
much lower and in the last
campaign was only marketed
a 20 percent of this brand.
Planned auction. Subasur
is an auction, has bet for a
planned strategy for “supply
in the complicated months of
campaign and respond to the
markets when the supply is
scarce”, says García.
This strategy “allows us to be
on the market in the complicated
months and reduce our
stock in periods of overproduction”,
anticipates García.
The company has 75 suppliersproducers,
who in addition
to melon, introduce lamuyo
pepper for the spring campaign;
and courgette, broccoli
and artichokes for the winter
months.
The ‘target’ of customers of
Subasur are currently wholesalers
and small supermarket
chains and greengrocer
chains.
de producción propia.
Diversificación. La empresa
inició en 2007 una doble estrategia
de diversificación de
productos y de gestión de cos-
tes, que le ha permitido ser
muy competitivo en precios
para las cadenas europeas y,
sobre todo, para las alemanas.
La diversificación de productos
le ha llevado contemplar una
amplia referencia de hortalizas
bajo invernadero como pepino,
calabacín, berenjena, pimientos
para el mercado español;
y producción al aire libre
en lechuga iceberg y romana,
donde la empresa ya trabajaba
con anterioridad, y con una estrategia
de estar presentes durante
los 12 meses.
Hoy la gama de hortícolas bajo
invernadero supone el 30 por
ciento de su oferta y la gama
de productos de hojas sobre el
35 por ciento, que centra en
las cadenas alemanas con una
estrategia de precio competitivo
al manipular el género en
campo, excepto la berenjena,
y siempre a demanda. “Huimos
del estocaje en almacén
para evitar la presión comercial
y así ser más competitivos
en precios”, destaca López.
The company Pozo Sur is
known for its high standard of
quality in watermelon. “Our
watermelon wins by thrashing
in taste”, repeated Juan Lopez,
manager of Pozo Sur, a company
located in Águilas (Murcia)
which has country estates
throughout the southeastern
spanish to ensure the best
level of quality in watermelon.
Pozo Sur is within the Asociación
Grupo Fashion (AGF),
one of the collective reference
in seedless black watermelon
with flavor, and also sells its
brands Mario and Mario Unico
both to the Spanish market
and for export. Currently,
Pozo Sur is the first independent
Spanish producer of this
product with 40,000 tons of
watermelon.
Diversification. The company
started in 2007 a dual strategy
of diversification of products
and cost, which has allowed it
to be very competitive in prices
for European chains and,
above all, for the german.
The diversification of products
has taken it contemplate
a wide reference of vegetables
in greenhouse such as cucumber,
courgette, aubergine,
peppers for the spanish market;
and outdoor production
in iceberg and romaine lettuce,
where the company has
already worked, and with a
strategy to be present during
the 12 months.
With a price-competitive
strategy to manipulate the
products in the field, except
the aubergine, and always in
demand, has managed a good
representation in the german
chains. “We fled the stock in
warehouse to avoid the commercial
pressure and thus be
more competitive in prices,”
emphasizes López.
percent of its operations, although
the company has begun
the internacional development
to other destinations
as Russia, Dubai or the Eastern
Europe markets. A policy
with a portfolio of products
composed of ‘commodity’
products such as tomatoes,
cucumbers and green beans,
but also ‘premium’ products
such as Kumato tomato or flat
peach.
The development of international
markets is not new,
because the company located
in Mazarrón exports for along
time to Germany and United
Kingdom.
Perichán has in the Spanish
chain -Mercadona- its reference
customer, with which it
develops special lines, as cu-
cumber. A line R&D that also
focuses on Kumato - standard
tomato and baby plum- and
in Raf tomato, where it has
become the largest producer
of this ‘premium’ product in
Murcia.
Portfolio. Perichán has in
vegetables their important
products where has 767 hectares
between green beans,
tomatoes and cucumbers, but
also includes fruit trees on the
coast of Murcia, where it develops
products at the end of
spring in grape and stone fruit
-peach and flat peach-.
The company has own farms
in Murcia and Agadir, from
where works the major part of
the green been for the Spanish
market. Tomato, cucumber
for 12 months.
A EUROPA.
El Dulze produce y gestiona el
little-gem y la lechuga romana
de mayor estándar de calidad
de la producción de hoja en España.
Es una empresa marquista
con unas referencias no muy
dadas a este tipo de estrategias
como los productos de hoja.
La little-gem y los corazones
de lechuga romana representan
el 80 por ciento de su facturación
que se destina en un
65 por ciento al mercado español,
pero que empieza a desarrollar
en el mercado europeo.
Estrategia de marca. La estrategia
de la firma se basa únicamente
en producción de
categoría ‘premium’ y en el
desarrollo de la marca El Dulze
en el segmento del mercado
mayorista, aunque con la apertura
internacional ha ido desarrollando
acciones con cadenas
de supermercados de valor.
La firma trabaja líneas de hoja
para marcas blancas ‘gourmet’
de las cadenas de supermercados,
aunque “el propio cliente
termina por apostar por nuestra
marca El Dulze”, señala
José Ramón Sánchez, director
de Marketing de la firma. Hoy
el 70 por ciento de las operaciones
se realizan bajo la marca
El Dulze y el resto bajo las
marcas blancas de las cadenas
de supermercados.
Uno de los puntos fuertes de
desarrollo de El Dulze es la
inversión en I+D tanto en gestión
varietal como en seguridad
alimentaria y logística interna.
En los últimos seis años
la empresa ha invertido 12 millones
de euros en mejorar sus
medios logísticos y en ofrecer
un producto de categoria ‘premium’
en unidades de venta
de valor añadido.
El posicionamiento de la marca
El Dulze en productos de
hoja, le ha valido a la empresa
para introducirse en otras
líneas como hierbas aromáticas,
apios, rabanitos, guisantes
o maíz dulce. El Dulze es
uno de los proveedores de la
marca Gigante Verde para el
mercado europeo en productos
de hoja. La empresa cuenta
con 1.500 hectáreas de lechuga
HAS STARTED
TO OPEN UP TO
EUROPE.
El Dulze produces and manages
the little-gem and the romaine
lettuce with the highest
standard of quality of leaf production
in Spain. The littlegem
and the hearts of romaine
lettuce mean a 80 percent of
its turnover which is sent in a
65 percent to the Spanish market,
but it begins to develop in
the European market.
The firm’s strategy is based
solely on production of ‘premium’
category and the development
of the brand El Dulze
in the wholesale segment of
the market, although with
the international opening has
been developing actions with
supermarket chains of value.
The company is working varieties
of leaf for own brands
‘gourmet’ of supermarket
chains, although “the own
client ends up by betting by
our brand El Dulze,” says
José Ramón Sánchez, Marketing
manager of the company.
Today, the 70 percent of the
dealings are with the brand
El Dulze and the rest with the
own brands of the supermarket
chains.
One of the heavy points of
development of El Dulze is
the investment in R&D both
in varietal management and
in food security and internal
logistics. In the past six years
the company has invested 12
millions of euros in R&D focused
on improving their logistics
and offer a product of
‘premium’ category in sales of
value added.
El Dulze is one of the suppliers
of the brand Green Giant
for the European market in
leaf products. The company
has 1.500 hectares of lettuce
in production.
LOS PRODUC-
SON LA BASE DE
AGRUPAPULPÍ.
ESTA EMPRESA
CONTEMPLA UN
IMPORTANTE
DESARROLLO
EN VARIEDADES
DE HOJA PARA IV
GAMA Y HORECA,
Y HA AMPLIADO
DE MANERA
IMPORTANTE SU
PRESENCIA EN
SANDÍA.
Agrupapulpí es el séptimo
productor de productos de
hoja en España con unos volúmenes
que rondan las 45.000
toneladas y que mantiene durante
los 12 meses. La lechuga
iceberg es la base de su comercio,
pero también desarrolla
corazón de lechuga –cogollos-
y lechuga romana durante los
12 meses.
Además de esta gama, cuenta
con líneas especiales de diferentes
tipos de lollos en rojo
y verde y hojas de roble desde
noviembre hasta abril.
La empresa cuenta con 1.500
hectáreas de producción propia
en la zona del sureste español
–Almería, Murcia y Granada-
que “nos permite disponer
de oferta de hoja durante los
12 meses”, señala Rodrigo
Soler, director comercial de
Agrupapulpí.
Uno de los puntos fuertes de la
empresa es la amplia variedad
de lechugas que desarrollan
tanto para el mercado en fresco
como para las procesadoras
de IV gama y el canal Horeca,
“línea de negocio que hemos
desarrollado intensamente en
las últimas campañas”, apunta
Soler.
Nuevas referencias. Aunque
la lechuga es el producto de
referencia de Agrupapulpí, la
empresa está potenciando la
oferta de brócoli desde hace
cuatro años y hoy cuenta con
una producción propia que supera
las 4.000 toneladas.
Además del brócoli, su vinculación
con el mercado británico
le ha permitido el desarrollo
de líneas de apio.
La empresa ha potenciado
sobremanera los cultivos de
verano en sus fincas cercanas
a la costa con una producción
de sandías que suma las
25.000 toneladas de variedades
tradicionales y sin semilla,
y también la línea de sandía
amarilla. Además la empresa
cuenta con melón Honeydew
que trabaja comercialmente
entre Reino Unido y Alemania,
sobre todo.
THE LEAF PROD-
BASIS OF AGRU-
COMPANY HAS
AN IMPORTANT
DEVELOPMENT IN
LEAF VARIETIES
FOR IV FRESH-
CUT AND HORE-
CA, AND HAS
EXPANDED, IN A
SIGNIFICANT WAY,
ITS PRESENCE IN
WATERMELON.
Agrupapulpí is the seventh
producer of leaf products in
Spain with a volume nearly by
45,000 tons and it maintains
throughout 12 months. The
iceberg lettuce is the basis of
their trading, but also develops
heart of lettuce -cogollos-
and romaine lettuce during
the 12 months.
In addition, it has special lines
with different types of lollos:
Rosso and green and oak leaf
lettuce from November until
April.
The company has 1,500 hectares
of their own production
in the southeastern of Spain
-Almería, Murcia and Granada
- that “it allows us to have
supply of leaf products during
the 12 months”, says Rodrigo
Soler, marketing manager of
Agrupapulpí.
One of the strengths of the
company is the wide variety
of lettuce that develop both
the fresh market and processing
companies of the fresh
cut and Horeca, “a business
line we have developed very
strongly in the latest campaigns”,
says Soler.
New references. Although lettuce
is the reference product
of Agrupapulpí, the company
is developing the broccoli for
four years and today it has
their own production which
exceeds 4,000 tons.
In addition to the broccoli, its
link to the British market has
allowed the development of
lines of celery.
The company has promoted
the summer crops on their
farms along the coast with
a watermelon production of
25,000 tons of traditional varieties
and seedless, and also
yellow watermelon. In addition,
the company has Honeydew
melon which works
commercially between United
Kingdom and Germany, especially.
y Twitter. Al mismo tiempo,
hay que resaltar que
algunos operadores hortofrutícolas
han decidido, de
forma muy acertada, crear
sus propios blogs o canales
audiovisuales en You Tube.
Está muy claro que las nuevas
tecnologías están invadiendo
el mundo de las
frutas y hortalizas, aunque
bien es cierto que son muy
pocos los actores de este
sector que han creado su
propio boletín o Newsletter,
así como existen muy pocas
firmas que utilicen un departamento
de comunicación
para dar a conocer sus
novedades.
Las cifras hablan por sí solas.
Únicamente el 10 por
ciento de las firmas hortofrutícolas
del Levante
español saben utilizar la
comunicación, gestionarla
adecuadamente y, especialmente,
disponen de un gabinete
de prensa efectivo.
Lamentablemente, muchos
empresarios siguen confundiendo
la comunicación
con el marketing, y son dos
conceptos totalmente distintos.
Afortunadamente, los esfuerzos
realizados por parte
de agencias como Com Imaginación
ha hecho posible
que las frutas y hortalizas
murcianas sean conocidas
internacionalmente en
mercados tan importantes
como Alemania, Francia,
Reino Unido o, incluso,
USA. La labor intensa de
en los últimos siete
años en productos tan importante
como los cítricos,
las hortalizas, el melón o
la uva de mesa, está ahora
dando sus resultados.
Por todo ello, y siendo conscientes
muy presente en todos los
sectores económicos, para el
nuevo reto que nos marcamos
para seguir abanderando
la incorporación de las
nuevas tecnologías al sector
Dentro del mismo contexto,
y no olvidando nuestro
internacionales.
La horticultura murciana ha
sufrido grandes cambios en
los últimos 15 años y muchas
empresas de servicios se han
visto condicionadas en su desarrollo.
Areas como Aguilas
o Mazarrón –tomateras- han
visto perder capacidad productiva
y muchas hectáreas
han desaparecido, mientras
que otras zonas como el Campo
de Cartagena y el Valle del
Guadalentín se han reforzado
como proveedores de referencia
de productos de hoja y brásicas
a los mercados UE.
Esta realidad ha sido seguida
por la firma Agrosana, encuadrada
actualmente en el
MAZARRÓN
RAMONETE - LORCA
‘Top Five’ entre los distribuidores
de servicios e inputs de
Murcia, gracias a la estrategia
de estructura multi-almacén
y ubicación local cerca de la
clientela.
Esta estrategia les hace tener
hoy cuatro delegaciones, que
cubre todas las áreas hortícolas
de Murcia –Mazarrón,
Lorca, Puerto Lumbreras y Ramonete-1.
Agrosana centra su
actividad en la distribución de
‘inputs’ agrícolas.
De esta manera “cubrimos todas
las áreas de producción en
Murcia como Campo de Cartagena,
Valle de Guadalentín y
la zona de Aguilas-Mazarrón
y ganamos en competitividad
y presencia”, señala Tomás
Fuentes, director financiero
de Agrosana.
Desarrollo. La primera piedra
del desarrollo expansivo se
puso en marcha en 2007 con
la apertura de la delegación
de Lorca. En 2012 se cerró este
proceso con la presencia del
punto de venta de Ramonete.
La ampliación hacia otras
áreas de producción facilitó
uno de los objetivos de Agrosana:
diversificación de clientela.
“El desarrollo de nuevos
almacenes nos ha permitido
mejorar el servicio, ser más
ágil logísticamente y disponer
de un equipo técnico más cercano
al cliente”, señala Miguel
Angel Fuentes, director comercial
de Agrosana.

y Fernando Fuentes.
El desarrollo expansivo de
Agrosana se ha diseñado para
cubrir cualquier ‘target’ de
cliente, ya que “el perfil de empresas
de Murcia contempla
grandes empresarios y figuras
más de productores con una
gestión más familiar”, señala
Miguel Angel Fuentes.
La estrategia de apertura de
delegaciones “reactivó nuestro
negocio de la distribución”,
recuerdan los Fuentes. En tan
sólo un lustro la empresa ha
cuadriplicado su volumen de
negocio y suma 14 millones de
euros.
