naturalbalance<br />
L´ANTIC COLONIAL ha buscado desde su creación satisfacer la demanda de productos<br />
naturales de alta calidad. Piedra natural, barro manual, mosaicos vítreos, maderas<br />
y porcelánicos técnicos son mostrados como productos cercanos, elegantes y únicos;<br />
obtenidos mediante procesos de transformación respetuosos con el medio ambiente;<br />
en los que las transformaciones químicas, y la utilización de sustancias peligrosas,<br />
contaminantes y nocivas para el entorno y la salud humana no tienen cabida.<br />
PIEDRA NATURAL<br />
La explotación de los recursos minerales produce una serie de efectos negativos<br />
sobre el medio. Esto se debe, fundamentalmente, a que es necesario realizar grandes<br />
movimientos de tierra para alcanzar las rocas y minerales, con el consiguiente deterioro<br />
del paisaje, el suelo, la vegetación, el agua, etc.<br />
En L’Antic <strong>Colonial</strong> no es habitual la producción de residuos peligrosos ni contaminantes.<br />
Los residuos generados, no generan contaminación y se depositan en escombreras,<br />
o se emplean para restaurar los terrenos, una vez finalizada la actividad.<br />
La utilización de agua se realiza en circuito cerrado, recuperando el agua no consumida<br />
para reutilizarla una vez depurada. Además, se pulveriza agua con tensoactivos<br />
en los principales focos de generación de polvo, y se instalan filtros y captadores; se<br />
cubren las instalaciones de tratamiento y camiones para evitar que el polvo generado<br />
se disperse.<br />
Antes de iniciar la extracción de minerales, los ejemplares arbóreos y arbustivos se<br />
transplantan para evitar su pérdida; se recolectan semillas y se guarda y trata el suelo<br />
para la posterior restauración con la apariencia más natural posible.<br />
PARQUET<br />
En L’Antic <strong>Colonial</strong> también existe preocupación por los impactos asociados a la producción<br />
de derivados de la madera: parquet, laminados, tarimas, etc. Se puede afirmar<br />
que todos nuestros productos provienen de bosques certificados por el Consejo<br />
de Administración Forestal (FSC); y se está trabajando actualmente para conseguir<br />
dicho certificado, en su variante de: “Certificado de Cadena de Custodia”, el cual<br />
implica la evaluación de la línea de producción forestal. La etiqueta o marca registrada<br />
del FSC permite identificar el origen de un producto, garantizando su calidad.<br />
En definitiva, se minimiza el impacto ambiental, entendiendo que todo desarrollo<br />
forestal debe conservar la diversidad biológica y sus valores asociados, recursos<br />
de agua, suelos y ecosistemas frágiles y únicos, además de paisajes. Por último, se<br />
obliga a mantener los bosques naturales, a no talar bosques primarios ni secundarios<br />
bien desarrollados o lugares de gran importancia ambiental, social o cultural. Las<br />
plantaciones, únicos generadores legítimos de madera, deben proporcionar beneficios<br />
al tiempo que reducen la presión sobre los bosques naturales y promueven su<br />
restauración y conservación.<br />
PLANTAS DE PRODUCCIÓN<br />
L´ANTIC COLONIAL posee un sistema de recirculación de las aguas de proceso, lo<br />
que redunda en su consumo eficiente.<br />
Los residuos, generados durante el proceso productivo, son correctamente segregados<br />
y almacenados para su posterior gestión con Gestores Autorizados.<br />
Periódicamente, laboratorios acreditados realizan mediciones que confirman las<br />
correctas pautas ambientales que el personal de L´ANTIC COLONIAL mantiene con<br />
el entorno. Así, con los resultados obtenidos se controla el cumplimento legal en: las<br />
emisiones a la atmosfera, las aguas de vertido, y la generación de ruido.<br />
Todo este esfuerzo se ha visto reflejado, recientemente, en la obtención de la certificación<br />
ambiental según la norma UNE-EN-ISO 14001:2004.<br />

natural products. Natural stone, handmade terracotta, glass mosaics, wood and<br />
through-body porcelain tiles - made with environmentally friendly techniques free from any<br />
chemical alterations or the use of substances that are dangerous, pollutant or harmful to<br />
the environment or human health - are revealed in all their natural splendour and unique<br />
elegance.<br />
NATURAL STONE<br />
Mining and quarrying minerals generates a series of harmful environmental effects, mainly due<br />
to the need to excavate large areas of land to reach rocks and minerals, with the subsequent<br />
detrimental repercussions on the scenery, land, vegetation, water etc.<br />
L’Antic <strong>Colonial</strong> tries to avoid the generation of dangerous or pollutant waste, instead generating<br />
non-pollutant waste materials that are taken to tips or used as landfill to restore the<br />
landscape.<br />
Water is used in a closed-circuit system so that any unconsumed water can be filtered and<br />
re-used. In areas where dust is generated, water is sprayed with surfactants, and filters and<br />
dust collectors are fitted. Processing facilities and trucks are covered to prevent dust from<br />
spreading.<br />
Before minerals are quarried, trees and shrubs are replanted elsewhere to conserve them.<br />
Seeds are collected and kept, and the soil is treated so that the landscape can later be restored<br />
in as natural a way as possible.<br />
PARQUET<br />
L’Antic <strong>Colonial</strong> is also concerned about the possible negative repercussions of the production<br />
of wood by-products like parquet, laminate flooring, or decking. All our products<br />
come from forests certified by the Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) and we are working<br />
to achieve the FSC “chain of custody certificate”, which involves assessment of the forestry<br />
production chain. The FSC label or trademark makes it possible to identify the origin of a<br />
product, guaranteeing its quality.<br />
In short, the impact on the environment is minimized, on the understanding that all forestry<br />
activities must aim to conserve the biological diversity of our woodlands and their associated<br />
assets, water resources, land, unique fragile ecosystems and scenery. Lastly, a commitment<br />
is undertaken to conserve natural woodlands, refraining from cutting down primary or welldeveloped<br />
secondary woods or places of environmental, social or cultural value. Plantations<br />
– unique legitimate sources of wood – must provide benefits, while also alleviating pressure on<br />
natural woodlands and helping to promote their restoration and conservation.<br />
MANUFACTURING PLANTS<br />
L´ANTIC COLONIAL uses a closed-circuit recirculation system for water needed in the manufacturing<br />
process, thus ensuring efficient consumption.<br />
Any waste generated during the manufacturing process is properly separated and stored prior<br />
to its management by authorized waste management bodies.<br />
From time to time, authorized laboratories conduct inspections to check that L´ANTIC<br />
COLONIAL’s staff carry out correct environmental procedures. With the obtained results, legal<br />
compliance with atmospheric, water and noise emissions is ensured.<br />
All these efforts have recently been awarded with the firm’s certification of compliance with<br />
the UNE-EN-ISO 14001:2004 standard.<br />

aceites naturales de girasol y cardo, y cera de carnauba que<br />
se viene utilizando desde hace siglos. En la gama NATUR<br />
PLUS de L’Antic <strong>Colonial</strong> el aceite seca lentamente al contacto<br />
con el aire, lo que provoca que éste penetre profundamente<br />
en cada uno de los poros de la madera.<br />
NATUR PLUS is a natural wood protection based on natural<br />
oils made from a mix of sunflower oil, thistle oil and carnauba<br />
wax, which have been in use for centuries. For L’Antic <strong>Colonial</strong><br />
NATUR PLUS range the oil has to slowly dry into the air. This<br />
completely natural drying process causes the oil to penetrate<br />
intensively into the individual pores of the wood.
