In line with the experience of the leading countries in terms of migration statistics, it
is essential to develop alternative sources of information, in addition to the traditional data
sources (censuses and household surveys), particularly as related to administrative records. To
that end, the human resources of state institutions dedicated to the production of migration
statistics should be quantitatively and qualitatively strengthened.
