Da cuenta de haberse visto precisado a retirarse por último a Cartagena. Y acompaña copia de las insolentes capitulaciones que propusieron los rebeldes y aprobó la Junta Superior de Gobierno de Santa Fe obligada de la violencia y sin fuerzas para resistirla; de lo que sobre ellas representó el Visitador General al Virrey, y otros oficios respectivos al asunto. E. en su representación de 27 de agosto último número 10 remite el papel que con el título de Reflexiones ha formado en refutación de las injurias e imputaciones que contra su honor y conducta extendió la Junta de Santa Fe en su sesión de 9 de julio. Acompaña varios documentos justificativos de los hechos más esenciales. Y pide que para que la resolución del asunto recahiza con pleno conocimiento de causa, se agregan a la vista los antecedentes que hay en esa vía reservada en el caso de que el examen se cometa al Consejo.
