[Says he is anxious because he has not yet heard whether the situados arrived safely in
Havana; says that the viceroyalty in general is at peace, but that there is war in Chihuahua,
where Oconor is stationed.]

[Says, among other things, that Oconor will soon begin his principal work on the frontier,
after having inflicted a defeat upon the Apaches.]

[Says he awaits O'Reilly's opinion about strengthening the fortifications of San Juan de
Ulua; informs him that the Indians of Chihuahua are restless, but because of the drought
and the bad conditions of the horses Oconor is unable to act.]
