Como decorre da análise destes quadros, com excepção ao
Dólar, o risco cambial do Banco relativamente a moedas diferentes
daquela que é a base da sua actividade (escudos caboverdianos)
é praticamente irrelevante à data de 31 de Dezembro
de 2010 e 2009, se tivermos em consideração que o câmbio do
Euro face ao ECV tem paridade fixa.

An analysis of the tables shows that with the exception of the dollar the bank’s
foreign exchange exposure risk to currencies other than its operating currency
(Cape Verde escudos) at 31 December 2010 and 2009 was practically irrelevant,
taking into consideration that the euro is on a fixed parity with the CVE.

.Interest rate risk
O
risco de taxa de juro decorre da possibilidade de ocorrência
de impactos negativos nos resultados ou no capital,
devido a movimentos adversos nas taxas de juro,
por via de desfasamentos de maturidade ou de prazos de refixação
de taxas de juros, da ausência de correlação perfeita
entre as taxas recebidas e as taxas pagas nos diferentes instrumentos,
ou da existência de opções embutidas em instrumentos
financeiros do balanço ou elementos extrapatrimoniais.

Interest rate risk derives from the possibility of the occurrence of negative
impacts in the income statement or capital, owing to adverse movements
in interest rates, deriving from maturity gaps between interest rate refixing
periods, absence of perfect correlation between rates received and paid on different
instruments, or the existence of options embedded in financial instruments in
balance sheet or off-balance sheet items.
