En invierno, en zonas templadas don<strong>de</strong> la temperatura<br />
disminuye por <strong>de</strong>bajo <strong>de</strong> los 18ºC, es conveniente<br />
proteger el biodigestor con una estructura <strong>de</strong><br />
polietileno (tipo macrotúnel) lo que permite mantener<br />
el calor acumulado durante el día para que la fermentación<br />
se realice <strong>de</strong> forma normal.<br />
Se propone también, en épocas <strong>de</strong> verano, proteger<br />
el biodigestor con malla sombra (sombrite), cañas u<br />
hojas <strong>de</strong> palma, a fin <strong>de</strong> disminuir la temperatura durante<br />
las horas <strong>de</strong>l día, ya que las temperaturas elevadas<br />
inci<strong>de</strong>n negativamente sobre la biodigestión y<br />
los rayos ultravioleta <strong>de</strong>terioran el polietileno.<br />
