La propuesta que aquí se ha presentado pretende que los estudiantes aprendan con comprensión el Cálculo de una variable. En el papel lo ha logrado, pues quienes la hemos estado construyendo podemos decir ahora que comprendemos la derivada y la integral de una función no sólo porque podemos dar la definición de estos conceptos, o que comprendemos el Teorema Fundamental del Cálculo no sólo porque podemos enunciarlo y demostrarlo, o incluso, que comprendemos el procedimiento para calcular integrales no sólo porque lo podemos implementar. Podemos decir que comprendemos todos estos objetos matemáticos más bien porque conocemos problemas que los pueden hacer surgir y evolucionar en estrecha relación. Esos problemas y esa relación están “a la vista”, precisamente, en el mismo enunciado del Teorema Fundamental del Cálculo. 129
