The <strong>Revista</strong> d’Arqueologia <strong>de</strong> <strong>Ponent</strong> (<strong>RAP</strong>) is an<br />
annual publication of the Archaeology, Prehistory<br />
and Ancient History Unit of the University of Lleida<br />
History Department. It is published through a cooperation<br />
agreement with the Lleida City Council and<br />
the Institut d’Estudis Iler<strong>de</strong>ncs Public Foundation.<br />
The journal mainly publishes reports on the prehistory,<br />
archaeology and ancient history of the Iberian<br />
Peninsula and its links to Europe and the Mediterranean<br />
in the theoretical and methodological fields, as<br />
well as presenting excavation results, summaries and<br />
critical studies. The content is divi<strong>de</strong>d into different<br />
sections: Studies, Documents, Dossier/Discussion, Scientific<br />
Reports and Reviews. All the articles received<br />
are evaluated externally (peer review).<br />
Studies: articles of reflection or synthesis and comprehensive<br />
presentations. They will have a maximum<br />
length of 40 pages (10.000 characters), including notes,<br />
illustrations and bibliography.<br />
Documents: news, advances in research, specific studies.<br />
They will have a maximum length of 20 pages<br />
(5.000 characters) including notes, illustrations and<br />
bibliography.<br />
Dossier / Discussion: this section is for the presentation<br />
of a specific subject by a group of authors or<br />
for an open discussion of a topic of current scientific<br />
or professional interest. Each dossier or discussion<br />
must always have a scientific editor responsible for<br />
the section.<br />
Scientific Report: an annual account of the archaeological<br />
and palaeontological interventions in the<br />
province of Lleida, the report from the University of<br />
Lleida Archaeological Conservation and Restoration<br />
Laboratory, brief archaeological news, reports on<br />
meetings and congresses.<br />
Reviews: the journal accepts for publication books<br />
whose authors wish them to be revised. Two copies<br />
should be sent, one for the author of the recension<br />
and one for the University of Lleida Library. If the<br />
author wishes to formulate replies, he or she can<br />
request this of the Board of Editors.<br />
The language of the journal is Catalan and articles are<br />
accepted in all the official languages of Spain, as well<br />
as English, Italian, French, German and Portuguese.<br />
Submission and presentation of originals<br />
These will be sent to the journal’s address: <strong>Revista</strong><br />
d’Arqueologia <strong>de</strong> <strong>Ponent</strong>, Unitat d’Arqueologia, Prehistòria<br />
Antiga, Universitat <strong>de</strong> Lleida, Pl. Víctor Siurana,<br />
1, E 25003 LLEIDA.<br />
In keeping with the current evaluation practices for<br />
scientific journals, for articles to be accepted, it is<br />
essential that they are accompanied by a letter signed<br />
by the author(s) certifying the originality of the<br />
work and that it has not been nor will be published<br />
in any other medium.<br />
The Board of Editors will send each original to two<br />
peer reviewers; it will then <strong>de</strong>ci<strong>de</strong> on its publication<br />
and communicate its <strong>de</strong>cision to the authors within<br />
a period of no more than three months. It may also<br />
make comments or suggestions to help improve the<br />
article.<br />
The format of the articles will be as follows: the title<br />
(in the language of the article and in English) and<br />
