Dear Dr. Galiano:
In 1965 you sent to this Institute, at that time called the Hunt Botanica1 Library, a
photograph of Dr. Blanca Catalán de Ocón y de Gayolá , and also noted that.she was
born in 1860 and died in 1904. We have been attempting to obtain a little more detailled
information regarding this lady, so that she may be more positively identified in future
years, but without success.
Hence, I am enclosing with this letter a return addressed card which indicates the
specific biographical items which are lacking, and hope you will insert the data needed
and then return it to me.
You may recall that Dr. Walter H. Hodge sent to us a photograph of yourself which he
had taken in May 1966, and that a little later that year you had filled out a more
elaborate biographical data sheet regarding yourself which we had sent to you.

De Estados Unidos me piden datos sobre tu antepasada Doña Blanca Catalán de Ocón,
especialmente lo referente a ciudad, día, mes y año de su nacimiento e iguales datos referente a su
defunción. Según datos que tomé yo de no sé donde* y que les envié hace años, esta señora nació
en 1860 y murió en 1904, pero parece que deseaban tenerlos mas completos.
Es muy probable que tú puedas facilitarme lo que deseo, en cuyo caso te quedaré muy
agradecido.
