ABSTRACT
The present thesis focuses its attention on self-esteem improvement among learning-
disabled children from second cycle at elementary schools, throughout the
implementation of a psycho-educative intervening program. The hypothetical assertion
that a higher learning ability could be attained by improving child self-esteem is put
forward as a point of departure. Empirical methods and techniques applied were the
analysis of the activity outcome (compositions), incomplete phrases, The Self-Concept
Tennessee Scale, a variant of Dembo-Rubinstein Self-Scale, the Zailma’s and the fifth-
excluded experimental techniques, as well as the psychopedagogical educative
experiment. Besides, information surveys and group interviews were performed to
determine this program effectiveness. The intervening program designed proved its wide
range of possibilities concerning this thesis objective. The direct link between child
academic and general self-esteem levels and learning ability is demonstrated.
