In an adult population, food additives containing Al may significantly contribute to dietary intake<br />

so it is necessary to conduct appropriate toxicity studies, particularly to assess their effects.<br />

The neurotoxic potential of Al means estimates must be ma<strong>de</strong> available on its dietary exposure in<br />

Spain and this Committee has recommen<strong>de</strong>d the inclusion of methods allowing its sources to be i<strong>de</strong>ntified<br />

as intrinsic or ad<strong>de</strong>d (food additives, a consequence of the processing, migrations from packaging<br />

materials, etc.).<br />
