INFORME SOBRE LA CONSTITUCIÓN DE CONNECTICUT 1783 Informe de la Constitución de Connecticut El Estado de Connecticut está dividido en seis condados y cada condado en municipio. Cada municipio tiene derecho a enviar dos representantes a la Corte o Asamblea General. La Corte General tiene dos ramas, denominadas Cámara alta y Cámara baja. La Cámara alta está compuesta por el gobernador, el subgobernador y doce asistentes o consejeros: y la Cámara baja está formada por los representantes de cada uno de los municipios. Esta Corte tiene también la potestad de conceder, por razones discrecionales, las peticiones de suspensión, liberación o excarcelación en los casos penales y capitales. La Corte General tiene anualmente dos sesiones establecidas: el segundo martes de mayo y el de octubre. El gobernador, o el subgobernador en su ausencia, puede convocar la Asamblea en situaciones especiales de emergencia para que se reúna en cualquier otro momento. El gobernador, el subgobernador, los asistentes y el secretario son elegidos anualmente el segundo jueves de mayo. Los representantes son elegidos de nuevo para cada sesión establecida.
