LUIS GRAU para que redactasen el borrador de una forma de confederación de las colonias sublevadas. El 15 de noviembre de 1777 se completaron los Artículos de Confederación y el 17 de ese mismo mes se enviaron a cada uno de los trece estados una circular del Presidente del Congreso de los Estados Unidos y una copia impresa de los Artículos para que los legislativos de los estados los aprobaran. El 26 de junio de 1778 se acordó la versión definitiva de los Artículos de Confederación que fue firmada por los delegados de los Estados entre el 9 de julio de 1778 y el 1 de marzo de 1781, reuniéndose el nuevo Congreso Confederado al día siguiente. Estos Artículos –y su Confederación– estuvieron en vigor hasta el 4 de marzo de 1789, cuando entró en vigor la actual Constitución federal. 368
