Obama's day: A Western campaign swing
Good morning from The Oval, on a day when
President Obama heads to the West Coast to do some
campaigning.First up are two stops in Seattle, one at a
private home and the other at the Paramount
Theater.Then it's down to Los Angeles, where Obama
headlines a campaign event at George Clooney's
place in Studio City, Calif., tapping his huge Hollywood
donor base.The president wraps up his trip Friday in
Reno.The trip comes a day after Obama announced
that he now supports the legalization of gay marriage,
a USA TODAY team reports.Expect to hear more
about that today, as both parties assess the political
fallout.In other news:New bombings in Syria killed at
least 40 people.Senators want the Environmental
Protection Agency to investigate lead factory sites,
USA TODAY's Alison Young reports.Rural post offices
